Congrats to Middleton, district 15a, region 8, West Tn. I agree that we can't throw out 'ifs' and say what would have happened with Faulkner. BUT anyone that has seen Middleton with her in the lineup knows they were significantly better: 10 pts + maybe, with her there.

 

Congrats also to a good Clarkrange program who has an excellent tradition and will likely be back again and again.

Wonder what Lamar will blame it on this year? Congrats Middleton Tigers....don't pay any attention to the opponents coaches WHINING you earned it.

That is funny, I was thinking the same thing. Lamar likes to pout and blame it on the officials when he loses in state. Congratulations to Middleton.

I think the 2 best teams in the state played in the first round being clarkrange and Houston county. I don't think Middleton can play with either 2 of those teams.

Lie detector test says that's false Middleton can and did play with and Win!! Edited by MTown07

Middleton attacked the rim. Got the big post in foul trouble. Changed the whole game. Clarkrange even quit getting the ball to her on offense a lot in the 2nd half. Shot the threes and wasn't falling today. Congrats to both teams. Clarkrange will be back next year. Middleton might as well.

      RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.

      I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
