Hey DB guys.... looking at your 2014 schedule you beat (Volunteer, Crockett, Boone, Central) by a combined score of 206-20.

2015 sched looks a little different, think you may miss those above teams a little?

BTW, the Hill beat those same teams 222-41 and I don't seem to see a lot of cupcakes on their 2015 schedule either.

Same with Boone, this year we have both Motown's, the Hill, Sevier Co, probably some others.   At least we don't have to play DB.

Anybody ready for football to start ???

Back in the day,Central had some teams and Boone can sill jump up and bite you.For the last several years,Dobyns Bennett should have never had Volunteer,Crockett and Central on their schedule. That's just one of those  moves by tssaa that didn't help anyone .DB is where they should be nomatter what the results .The beast of the East is back but a Monster will join them in the new conference.

Agreed.   You really shouldn't have been playing Boone either, since 2009 DB has won avg score 39-18.      But there are always going to be those mismatches in HS sports.     Best of luck in 2015

As soon as they changed the conferences and did away with the Big East is when DB's playoff record went south. If I had to point to one thing that has hampered DB's playoff success it would have o be playing a weak schedule. This new conference will help more than anything. Even if they enter the playoffs with 3 or 4 losses they'll be a much better team than going in undefeated from the old conference.

WHAT'S GOOD WACKO JACKO!! IS DB GONNA MAKE ANY NOISE IN THAT REGION THIS SEASON?? OR ARE YOU IN REBUILDING MODE??? BUT YOU ARE A LOCK FOR THE PLAYOFFS....NOT FAIR IMO....BUT THAT'S THE T&&@@'S DECISION...#LOP

I would still consider the Indians in rebuilding mode but still will have a better team than last year. Barring any major injuries they should be in pretty good form come playoff time.

Last season I watched all the DB Freshman and JV home games. The frosh team had a lot of talent...the line was huge and dominant. And that good because the entire line will be lost to graduation. My bet is a lot of So. and Jr's start. its going to be a fun team to watch this season with speed all over the field. And a deep team. very few players will be going both ways

I seen all the 9th and a few of the jv games but watched a lot of the every day stuff as well.We lost some studs on the line and it will take time to bring the young guys up to that level. We have a few that will play and three or four that could start on either side depending on how the coaches play it out. There is no question in my mind who I would put where and on what side of the line after everyone is healthy .That goes for moving guys around to get the best and most talented guys on the field. That's always the hard part to just let it play out..On the other hand,we are loaded with skill players and they should be good to go.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
