The Jackets win a close one over county rival GHS Bobcats 41 to 6. Isaiah Bigbee was the question and Greenbrier had no answer for him. Isaiah pounded the rock ALL GAME LONG

Nice!, glad to hear this, great way to start the season, should be a dandy w/ Gallatin next week, they held on to beat Mt.Juliet 34-31.....

Good win for the Jackets . Have to cut back on penalties or it will haunt us against stronger teams , otherwise Jackets looked good in the running and passing game. Last years top rusher was injured and did not play , but Bigbee was stellar and QB Buckner looked very poised. On to Gallatin to play old time rival Green Wave at the Wave Yard. Go Jackets!!

It was a nice addition to see Buc fake handoff to Isaiah and then stand in the pocket and throw a strike to a streaking Peyton Hix down the far sideline. Once Alan is back the two headed running game should be STOUT. Kudos to a STRONG Bobcat team I fully expect them to finish 9-1 this year

Look, this ain't about the players.  Unfortunately, it's about the petty powers above them.  GB has been blessed with some phenomenal athletes over the last 10+ years, but only one or two teams had the potential to be State Champions and, in my opinion, they blew it because of coaching.  This 'regime' plays head games with certain players and if you ain't in the 'clique,' you out!  Sad but true.  Seen it too many times with too many players.

    • Looks like South Pittsburg added some more talent!
    • So much talk about an investigation about student record manipulation and then everything has went silent. Has anyone heard how the investigation is going?
    • Basically what you're saying is schools can basically bully students around and get away with it because they are protected. I agree to a certain extent but when schools decisions to keep knuckleheads on staff starts costing kids careers and a college education there is a problem. Our school system last week had a teacher supposedly push a kid and the parents went to the law and the teacher is suspended. So I wouldn't say that they can just do what they want without liability. This case don't pass the smell test because the coach had already been fired before and she got fired after a year on the job. Sounds like the student was right in this case on the outside looking in because the coach gets fired after one year. How many coaches get fired after one year?? Not many.
    • Problem with DB football goes beyond coaching. Like Waco said. Thr band is the main focus of their community and school. They have the resources to be a championship level team. Guarantee Ballard or Witten could have them nationally relevant at some point but everyone down to peewee would have to buy in and at DB we all know that would never happen.
