They are more into rasselin'!

You're correct sir. Occasionally we have a good football team with some of the best players in Tennessee to play the game, but yes, we are a wrestling school. Always have been and always will be.

Dual champions in:

94,95,98,99,01,03,04,06,08,09 and 2011

Traditional champions:

98,99,01,02,03,04,05,08,09 and 2010

19 straight reg 3 dual champions.

52 state champions

143 medallist

6 outstanding wrestlers in state

1 4x state champ

3 3x state champ

7 2x state champ

1 NCAA all American

16 high school all Americans

Hold the record with the most points in the traditional points with 268 points.

We never claimed to be a great football program. Funny how ppl comes out of the wood shed when we get beat and try to mock us lol. Wrestling, bball and volleyball made this school in sports.

He and his little brother can definitely throw down some taters...and pizza...and hotdogs. Lol. I agree that the film study should get some attention this week. Who will be coming to murvil next week?

I didn't know he was so photogenic until I saw some of J. Weaver's post game photos. He might be the next Derek Zoolander!

Were you at the game 12 or did you watch on the internet? I heard the Pioneers had a long day. They swung by UT and took a tour earlier in the day.

I watched on the internet.  The team did have a long day with the all the extra curricular activities. It provided a lot of our players with the experience they wouldn't have gotten otherwise.

We have been down for so long, that it was encouraging to see our team play a disciplined, hard fought game against the best. Hopefully, coach Moore will stay with us awhile. He knows how to coach and has state championship game experience.

Thank you to the folks in Maryville for their hospitality shown  to the few of us Pioneer fans that were able to make the trip. Great facilities and a class team. I'm also proud of the way my Pioneers showed the heart they have. Good luck to Maryville the rest of the way, I hope to come watch you guys in Cookeville in about a month.

If that's good it comes from mama or the milkman. Can't be from guy supplying garbage service.

Sounds like HVA may be in a tough spot tonight. If weather was better, that would be a good one to go scout.

    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
    • I am talking about what they both did for their team. They both carried their team for four years while they were both there. I wasn’t really comparing them that would be unfair. Bishop is on a level of his own.
