I've watched some games of CA on TSSAA network and they aren't afraid to get hit. They just haven't had to be put in a situation that needed a lot of hitting other than standard blocking and tackling. They won't see it this week either. Whitwell is tough but only when things are working for them. If CA jumps out early it will be a mercy rule. If CA lets them hang around they tend to get better, so beware. What I have noticed about CA on the videos is they are always well prepared so hats off to the coaching staff. I am not bringing this up so a debate starts about public/private, but is CA considered private?

Yes they are private.

What link are you watching the video on? What TSSAA web link?... I'm always up for watching film on teams. I haven't heard if this yet from the TSSAA website.

Sign up for a free account on TSSAA network, I believe it's called NFHS Network. Many schools are supporters so their games are uploaded to the site for advertising etc. some are just stats. Some keep telling me I need a subscription to view, but others can watch for free. Go to TSSAA.org and look for the link to the network. Then go from there. Sometimes all the options like searching are not available on your phone so I suggest a desktop at first.

I know one thing these East teams may not be UC and Dresden but all the legit East teams will hit CA in the mouth when it is their turn. The big four up here along with South Pitt will hit you for four Quarters and have had to all yr.The biggest hope any of us can have is to stay injury free non of us can afford taken on CA (whoever makes it) down a couple of good ones! Columbia Academy has a great team. We are all chasing you in the east. However, it's game set match for any of us vs the west.

The way I see it is that if somehow HHS, WC, or NCS upsets UC, then the championship is up for grabs. UC is the only west team that may mercy the east. DHS or Carver could be in this conversation too.

I expect a lot of slobber to go flying starting in the third round...or even thus week with NCS vs HHS. Yes, CA is blessed with a passing game, but realize that the run game, and stopping the run game is the key to 1A wins. While not ideal, CA has more line and backfield depth than ever. This is a result of starting an elementary program about 12 years ago. Behind most if not all successful programs is a good youth program. Edited by OldMain

I will be the first to say that ca has come a long way and is much improved but don't go slinging mud at WC! 2-2 in the last four games, are you kidding? If you wanna look at the past, WC has owned ca, look at the overall record.

I just like to remember the homecoming game in 06 ;) I think it was 2 plays and 4 TD's or something (included some kickoff returns?) but in all seriousness, CA will win.  CA looks pretty good.

And to the goober who says you can't ground and pound with a spread offense is a fool.

To the ones saying CA is afraid to get hit, isn't that the point of the game?  Run to the endzone and avoid the defense?

I'll read more and post my sarcastic remarks later

This goober must not have been clear. Some teams can ground and pound from a spread. CA cannot.

To have not seen a CA game this year you sure do try to talk a lot of smack! Why don't you get some facts behind those fingers before you start making statements about how my kids can't execute a running game. You want to say the problem is not with the kids but just who is executing those plays? Those are my kids playing on that field so take your sour, negative, Coach L hating attitude to some other thread, please! This thread is about the CA vs Whitwell game & I don't recall you making any statements to do with that topic.

    • Honestly the A.D. may be powerless at Maryville to some degree versus other schools. I know he has his hands full with GoFan and all the stupid surprises just from the emails he sends out during the season.
    • Harriman was better than what I anticipated. They had good skill guys and a QB that’s gonna make a lot of teams look silly. They had some silly pre snap penalties but it’s just spring and I guess that’s expected.    Oneida looks the part. They are big upfront and got a stable of backs that’s gonna carry them this year. They have a few playmakers at receiver also. They have a new receiver that has only played basketball till this year and he is very athletic. The question is can we find a QB to consistently get them the ball. They played 2-3 kids there and none looked great but they didn’t look awful either. The  defense is gonna be tough again but it’s very early and a lot can change between now and the fall.     It was good just to get out and watch some ball. I don’t know if Oneida has the team to win the region this year but just what I saw tonight I think they may be in the conversation come November.
