Single A 2015-2016

Would like to start a thread on how the top teams in single A are doing this year across the state. Please give updates, scores, and opinions on how the teams are looking in every district.

Moore CO 71 Cascade 56. Moore looked good on offense and horrible on defense. Coach at Cascade has a good group of girls to work with and they should be much better towards the end of the season. Moore must improve on D to compete with top teams in 9 A.

Any of the top 4 teams in 3A, and i mean ANY. Would not want to be the team from another district, region, or sub-state team to have to deal with any of those teams. 3A wins state this year. Good luck to everyone else.

On Saturday Summertown got a HUGE 42-31 win over Houston Co and a disappointing 46-44 loss to AA Creekwood. Summertown will make noise with a team featuring 9 sophomores that played EXTENSIVELY last year and by the end of the season was one of the better defensive teams in the state. They will be led by Kenzie Kilburn who just signed with Trevecca.

Did they lose anything? I know Community returned all their starters. Would be a great rematch.

SG lost 3 Seniors and is very young. Zero Seniors and one Junior. Start a Freshman, 3 Sophs and the one Junior. Lots of speed but not much height.

Just wanted to clear up my post. SG lost 3 girls to graduation from last year's team. Their best win so far was an 84-64 win over Sullivan East. I think East had some girls missing due to injury though.

Moore County looked horrible last night against Franklin Co. Didn't set screens well or come off them right when they were set. Gave up over 40 points by halftime. Defense wins championships and Moore doesn't play D. Unfortunate really because they can be great on the offensive end, but can't get a rebound on the othe end.

Haven't seen much talk at all about South Greene.

I watched them play Monday and they looked great. They were playing a much weaker team but it was a good opportunity to see the bench play as well. They should have another strong year. They are young, and it may show in tougher games, but I would expect them to go far. They lost their starting point from last year, but gained her youngest sister to take over the spot and she does not disappoint. I would not begin to base their season by the scores of these first few games as the entire bench is seeing plenty of playing time.
