This game is for the silver ball, sorry just how it is.

Oh boy here we go with this crap AGAIN! Same crap everyone was saying when coalfield and Monterey played last year ! Who cares let the kids play! Union city done showed that they can be beat so I see no problem in NCS or Peabody falling! Pulling for Greenback on this one cause CA is not a true east team! Good luck and health to both teams! Let the kids decide the winner!!!

First let me say thank you to the GB coaching staff. This has been a learn as you go season. These coaches took over on a last minute deal when the previous coach was dismissed right before the season started.Hanley first time ever D door has done a standup job.Ryan and Kil also outstanding job as the rest of the crew.To make a Semi appearance says a lot for their love of the GB football program and these kids.I COULD NOT BE MORE PROUD!To the kids way to bringbit and not quit.We know this week is an uphill battle BUT this is why we play.GB has proved folks wrong in season past we've beat much bigger and better teams that's what make our little place special to me.Less than 200 kids in the school and we always put out a quality team.We WILL BE THE UNDERDOGS THIS WEEK FOR SURE,so let's prepare and take it to them.Leave the blood sweat and tears on the field. Is a win or go home so prepare that way.Just remember you all put up 44-6 in the second half WITHOUT 50 on the field it would be great to have him but we can still play.Go Cherokees.

Ha just saw CA won by the same exact score we did!Ironic.

This is the two best teams in the east. I put it out there to orngeblk at the start of this season that I thought Greenback and Columbia Academy would be the two left standing playing in this game. I maintained all season that these two were the best two teams in the east and here they are matched up. I believe Columbia Academy has the better team, but they are in for some rough times with those trucks backed up by the visitors fence. Greenback has a good home field advantage. Columbia Academy was 4 TDs better than SP. I don't think they are 4 better than Greenback, but still possibly 2-3 TDs better. Anything can happen on any Friday night though when two teams are pretty close in terms of ability.

CA is for real, they proved that to me last night with a very talented, disciplined and coached team. #1 cannot be covered at receiver and under center in short yardage situations he can stretch or go over the top to move the chains. They have the numbers on the sidelines to stay fresh and wear down any public 1A team. I wish I had something that could help you guys but I don't. This team is just too talented at the skill positions behind a line that the coach keeps fresh all game. They will just wear you down even if you manage keep it close for a half. Having said all that I say Go Kees you are us Public's , last hope to prevent a 2 Private schools showdown in Cookeville. At the same time I don't see any way to prevent it. Edited by pegleg

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
