Several good upcoming sophs, I just don't know much about the grades under them. 6th grade looks really good.

Yes...there are some athletes in the 5th and 6th grades this season....The biggest plus about the ones I'm talking about is they have moms and dads that expect them to excel in the classroom and on the field/floor....I've coached many of them and they just have that drive that rarely fades away...It's good to see

Moms and Dads are the key.

Pujo let me ask you a question. Does that Lunsford man have any boys that will be worthy of making Murphys pole? I garuntee you I will be watching Murphys pole for any Hampton boys. Is that Lunsford man masking them lift a lot of weights right now?

Don't think they have a pole watcher in the bunch Roy.

I'm sure weather has delayed the process a little bit, but should be hearing an announcement soon on coaching position or I hope.

Did the interviews today and I think they will name the Coach on  Friday. Think they interviewed 4 different people. I'd say That Lunsford Man will get the job.

Great news. I like what I'm hearing the more I see and hear the more excited I get..

I'm impressed as well, Michael has took the bull by the horns and most of the kids are buying in. Looking like a very productive off season to me.. Anyone thinking the Dogs will be down next season better think again. But even at that its not a given that they will run the table again, the Comp is gonna be stiff next year.

    • Eagleville also loses Brown the catcher, Lamb CF, Mclemore RF (Heck of an athlete) and Drew the 1st baseman. They will be young.
    • Good thing we aren’t in Florida then huh? It would benefit a ton of the smaller schools  that don’t have the pools of kids to choose from! They should start by policing Shelby County like they do the rest of the state! Something has to change though and TSSAA knows that!
    • Correct, you can whimsically be fired in coaching. A coach that has tenure can stay on as a teacher if released from coaching. If you don’t have tenure as a teacher, you can fired without cause. Your last year as a teacher before tenure is earned you can be fired, but must be given cause. A tenured teacher can be fired, but it is a long hard process requiring the 3 D’s…. documentation, documentation and documentation. I have released 3 tenured teachers, 2 with PHD’s. However, teacher contracts had and still have clauses that state you can be fired for a variety reasons re: being arrested, public drunkenness, inappropriate relationships ect.
    • Hopefully you’re not signing off for good. There are a lot of Oak Ridge fans that appreciate your comments.
    • Florida tried urban/rural split two years ago. 4 urban classes, 4 rural classes. Didn’t work. Next year they will have 7 regular classes, 1 urban class for small schools only.
