50 percent or 3/5 make the playoffs

All the complaining from the privates about travel...I don't see it, at least in the west.Regions 6, 7, and 8 are probably closer knit in this proposal than the old districts that the DI privates played in. 15A frequently had one hour travel times for games, and the furthest two approached two hours apart...don't see that here.

If they make it 3 classes the smaller teams.will be really spread out.

I would think that any school over 400 students should be in the larger division, especially if there is only two divisions.  The smaller schools would never be able to compete with CPA, Notre Dame, Knox Webb, CAK, etc.  That is why I think TSSAA will move to three classifications. Just my opinion though. It does make more sense for travel purposes to stay with two.

I cannot see only two classes. In fact I heard three classes from a prominent head master.

Region 4-Rossville Christian, Fayette Academy, JCS, Trinity, Memphis Catholic, Tipton Rosemark

 

Class AA-

Region 1-Knoxville Grace, CAK, Webb, Notre Dame, Chattanooga Christian

Region 2-BGA, CPA, Goodpasture, Lipscomb, possibly PJP2

Region 3-USJ, FACS, Lausanne, ECS, Harding, St George's

 

Playoffs would have to be done differently, but with those 16 could seed 8 in east and 8 in west

Has any private school actually made the announcement to move yet?  Since the TSSAA ruling at the start of the 2015-2016 school year, are there any private schools that currently compete in Division I that are officially planning to move into Division II by the 2017-2018 school year?  I've heard rumors of Chattanooga Christian and Notre Dame.  Can anyone confirm any specific schools or perhaps even some rumors?  I know they still have plenty of time but I'm just curious.  Or are we all just assuming that every private school will definitely leave Division I?

Mainly because only about 8-10 schools could afford the travel costs involved. That would also not take into account the lost classroom time. Most of those top schools are also top academic institutions. Sounds great in theory, but will never happen.  The travel involved with a total split just within the state will be enormous.

 The privates will definitely split from the Tssaa in the near future. If all the schools mentioned above move to DII they have more than enough to form their own league and run it as they see fit. It would be even more of a benefit in some of the other sports. As far as making a super league with other states that would be costly for some and I cant see everyone agreeing to that but my gut feeling is they will definitely move from the Tssaa soon.

what school was it considering you are talking about the “best private school".. And they would govern themselves and from management they probably would use ADs and School Leaders to govern it about what the rules are and what not..
