D1AAA states. Is a 32 bracket fair? If not whats the solution?

Regardless, its all a moot point. The TSSAA's mindset is that of,  "If it don't make money, it don't make sense", so cutting a 32 man bracket to a 16 would cut their profits. There's no way they'd go for it. Id be for adding a districts, regionals, states, format but good luck getting them on board.

I've noticed they've also really increased their product line. A whole lot more hats, t-shirts, etc. Also I'm sure there's a bit made off the live webcast, video on demand, dvd's and pictures. It's turning into a whole lot more than just ticket sales.

Yes it is and TSSAA is all about that all mighty dollar, nothing more and nothing less, they could care less about the wrestling itself. D2 ended up having 6 kids after 1 kid missing weigh ins at region and another not making it at states. They place back 6 places for 6 kids. Maybe D2 should only place 4 instead of 6 and they are really going to hit a problem filling brackets when schools like Boyd and Notre Dame go from A/AA to D2 small school division when they can't fill all the brackets in D2 or A/AA as it is. It used to be so much harder to win a state title or be a state placer, sadly I look at kids now days that have placed and wouldn't have gotten out of round of 32 back in the day the only thing done last couple of years that helped wrestling or did good was going to double elimination but the rest hasnt done anything except pad the TSSAA wallet.

D2 should break away from the TSSAA and have their own state tournament.  The goal for all the D2 programs could become being a National Prep Champion like many of the private schools across the country.

Wouldn't the revenue from the additional wrestlers returning to medal rounds in another 16 bracket offset the additional cost of the extra bracket by bringing those families back who would have otherwise been eliminated? That seems to be the driving force in the other divisions. It would seem another bracket would be more revenue. Regardless, I'm sure you' re  correct in saying the T$$AA would never go for it.

 Kinda sad its more about money than about kids having a good experience and wrestling on a level mat within all divisions.

 During states I had a conversation with a kid I knew from a school close to us whom we had faced in a district dual.He was volunteering to help tap and work tables for free. The match we happened to be watching was a d2 that was in this kids weight class and it was well past the rounds necessary for d2 to medal. Come to find out this kid who was not good enough to place 4th or higher in our region had pinned the kid out there on the mat at an open tournament in 18 seconds of the first round. 

This is another conversation we have every year. It almost always comes down to the state champions from D2 would win, on average, 8-9ish of the head to head matches. But D1 is always deeper.

The separate divisions in Tennessee is detrimental to the sport. Tennessee wrestling would benefit much more from having all of the teams in one division. Just think of how much more intense the state tournament would be. Father Ryan, Baylor, Cleveland, and Bradley Central all competing for a state title. We need to combine all of the divisions into one.

Actually, the Division II champions are competing at Prep Nationals. They just have to compete as Team Tennessee instead of under their separate school names because it's technically an out-of-season event.

If you check you will actually see that they are not competing as Team TN.  They are entered into the brackets as being from their respective schools.
