Crockett shot attempted 35 threes while SC attempted 14. Not a lot of drives to the basket by Crockett which means not a lot of FT. Also SC shot 23 of the FT in the 4th qtr with Crockett pressing and fouling trying to catch up so nothing to the FT disparity. SC played the type of game they needed to be successful. Balanced scoring, took good shots, and the defense was really there the entire game. Good for Crockett is obviously a talented player but SC kept a hand in his face all day. If Taylor, Dotson, and Zazzaro continue to shot the 3 well SC has a chance to get to Saturday and take the whole thing. Congrats to the Bison!

When you shoot a ton of 3s, you're not going to get a lot of FT opportunities. SC scored inside and drove to the basket more (plus they got fouled a lot late in the 4th), so of course they were going to have more trips to the FT line.

Jump shooting teams normally struggle late in the season. The game was won by SC's ability to score in the paint. Look at Lebanon, MJ, Indepednence, and Crockett.....all jump shot teams that aren't playing anymore.

I hate when people throw that FT stat out . It's so misleading . And hate people calling good a ball hog . He has taken those shots all year I have been told . You going to say 33 I believe Day was his name . He pretty much shot everytime he touched it . Both are good players . Not ball hogs . Had a scout behind me asking about both . Thinks good will struggle at the next level , liked 21 on station camp and thought 22 on camp could be a good D3 player . Surprised Reed was only going to Alcorn st . I told him probably had something to do with grades

I believe u give camp credit for their D on good . I only saw him with 3 wide open looks all night . They were getting under him a lot making any shooter uncomfortable , Dotson needs to take care of the ball better if they are going to advance any further he had more turnovers (6) than all of crockett (4) . 3 of those in the 4th against the press . I believe they will see much more pressure tomorrow .

You must have not watched same game. Crockett would go inside and get hammered but no call.

Crockett would go inside and get hammered but no foul would be called. Good will be a great at the next level. Days grades is what kept him from signing with a mediocre school. You have to admit he has a great spin move.

Here's my take. In the last 1:51, SC was fouled 6 times (5 personal and 1 technical) and took 11 FTs.

 

Before then the foul discrepancy was 22-15 in favor of SC. Considering DC shot 35 3's (half their shots overall) and SC only shot 14 3's (less than 1/3 of their shots overall) that seems perfectly normal.

 

You just don't draw many fouls shooting half your shots from outside the arc.
