But, if you are worried about schools losing good athletes to privates, putting all the privates in a group where they can indeed provide financial aid to student athletes is only going to make it worse :(

Yep. Now all the Jr Pro Football games will be littered with a bunch of sweater vest wearing, private school yuppie scouts. 😂

Not being defensive in any way but there is a big difference between BA / MBA / Ensworth and CPA. The good CPA football teams of the past 6 years or so have basically been composed of kids from the same community. That's not true with the big D-II teams. We've got a great coaching staff, great participation from the student body, and a great strength and conditioning program. And have been blessed with some exceptional athletes.

I'll miss 3A because I think 3A/4A is the perfect size for high school football. I understand the debates about how private and open enrollment schools have advantages over normal public schools and I don't disagree. I wasn't referring to CPA. I know most of the coaches at CPA very well.

The issue isn't that they "take kids", more power to the institution and the families involved if that's the route you choose for your high school career. The issue is that the publics have to compete against them come tournament/playoff time.

If you want to recruit than recruit but come playoff time split the teams. There is a big difference between not having a quarterback and dealing with what you got as app0sed to going and getting a quarterback.

I think I quoted your post by mistake, no offense was taken at all. Those coaches are a great group of guys.

Oh, and if know Coach Taylor you need to ask him how close he came to literally exploding last night a few seconds before the half when there was an unnecessary foul that gave Greenbrier a score. He is always animated but I believe this was his high mark.

4 times in 6 years if it does take place. Plus a substate basketball team (and a substate baseball team from Sycamore this past spring). There have been many seniors from Cheatham County who've played their final high school athletic event against CPA.

Same with Camden.  CPA  and Brentwood academy  have ended our season in multiple sports. Boys and girls.

    • Sorry Barn. I wasn’t specific enough. It seems I’m always protecting the principal at 825. My interactions with her have been extremely positive, but very limited. With all the other stories being told, I’m confident there are other sides I am not aware of. Regardless, there are lots of decent people earning good checks up there. Maybe too good, which explains why no one is willing to speak up. My beef is with the poor communication among the athletic programs and with the administration. Seven years ago the poor communication led to my son missing graduation due to a sporting event that was planned months before. I chalked it up to the system being totally shocked that the baseball team made it out of their district, and our then AD was a football coach. Maybe they were surprised and did not plan appropriately. That was more palatable than they just didn’t give a crap. Déjà vu, seven years later, same thing. Different administration, but same result.  Maybe in seven more years, it will actually be “about the kids”. They should do better.
    • That's a fair line. But if it's not over, that's a big problem.
    • RR, you think that changes this year, or at least improves? I know they had a couple of talented young receivers last year that made some plays later in the year. Defensive back was a struggle against any team that was above average at throwing the ball.
    • You would think they got a bunch of interest
    • You would think with football just three months away more would be talking. There's only so much a person can say about someone allowing the field to get painted without asking their boss who would have said ((((((((  ALE NO ))))))))) or all the other BULLS#!T they've done as they lead Maryville High into the new age of WOKE in a conversative town. I'm ready for some football news without hearing something coming out of 825 that Power Munger has done to cap off the week.
