Memphis Mitchell vs Hampton

MM of old didn't act that way

This is an overlooked quality of Tyreke Key. He is hands down better than #2 but is a class act. One reason I wish he would have won Mr. Basketball.

Two best teams made it to the final, period. Congrats to Hampton on a great season and I look to see you guys and Clay County back next year.

Some of you all must have watched a different game I watch a game that was tied at halftime

Watch a game we had a lot of unforced turnovers

Warched a game where we give a lot of wide open layup

And still only lost by what? 15? and our best players were not on.

So not sure we're so inferior.

Proud of our subs too!!

Not inferior but playing a team like MM will do the above to teams. I said yesterday you guys were going to give up layups do their size. MM's length also will cause you to make silly turnovers.

just saying that any team can get beat on any giving day look at mtsu today like I said that's why they play the games

You are correct that any team can get beat on any given day, however Clay Co. may be good, but you are incorrect with your statement that Clay County is one of the two best teams in the state Edited by HamptonBulldogs1

You know it's kinda heart wrenching to know that today was the last day I'll see ole #4 in the court and on the field play in that light blue. I've worked with the boy from sun up to sun down these last 4 years. It's a pleasure to say that the hard work he has put in has paid off, besides a gold ball it has paid off. We've made some good memories together. Go Dogs.

Hard for these rural schools to end up with 5 players to match 5 from programs like MM no doubt. Had a blast tho!!!

    • Wanted to see if all of you would lift up Kyle James family in prayer. Kyle was one of the best wrestlers to ever come out of Soddy Daisy and as some of you know he lost his house a few weeks ago and now his family and friends mourns his passing. Not sure if any of you were around in early 2000’s when Kyle was wrestling at Soddy, but he was a 3 time state champ and a Fargo AA along with going to Colorado to train to make the Olympic team. That goal was never reached due to medical issues, but he was an amazing wrestler and his family is as good as gold. If you were around at that time and have any pictures of Kyle, please go onto Alexy Winesburgh FB page and post. Thanks, Doug Benton
    • My opinion the 8 teams will be-  Greenback, Wartburg, Gordonsville, Jo Byrns, Eagleville, Bruceton, Dresden, and South Fulton. Gordonsviile is probably the favorite but I wont say it will be an easy road. With the right draw any of the 8 could win it.
    • I understand Gibson Co. will be announced tomorrow with a familiar name. Not sure about So. Gibson.
    • A huge addition to the staff today! Former Hardin Valley legend and Richmond College running back Aaron Dykes was announced as the running backs coach. Rushed for over 3,000 yards at HVA, with 35 total touchdowns. I loved watching in Hardin Valley. I can’t believe he’s at Bearden now. I know he was trying to get a HVA job, I don’t know what happened there and how he ended up at Bearden, but I'm glad he’s here and believe he will be teaching art class as well! What a good get for the staff!!
    • Thoughts? Gordonsville won it last year with a sophomore pitcher and returned almost everybody. Can anyone beat them?
