fallguy17
Fall guy 17 we play Munford Tuesday what can we expect? The ground game. They don't have a tall lanky throwing QB like you would expect. They will run a few sweeps, but mostly between the tackle. Traps, a few counters, and just plain run it up the gut. They run out of variations of the I. If they pass it will be screens and short outs. Nice size linemen. On D they mostly stick with a 4-4 set. Quick on the corners and strong quick LBs. Guest AdamsvilleDad26
Did yall score 10-2 on them sounds like you dominated them
fallguy17
It was 10-2. We did very well. Our guys controlled the game. Muford did move the ball, but weren't able to finish. Our line controlled the line of scrimmage. I was glad to see our secondary step up and make plays. They had been a question mark in the spring. The big thing to our team is the guys are all in, %100 believers in what they are doing. It was bitter pill to swallow after how the season ended last season. They got really focused over the winter. Now they are on a mission.

The new coach was an assistantat at UC under Bowling several years ago. I did see elements of an option offense for Munford, in what they were doing. They could be transitioning into a veer or veer type offense.
Guest AdamsvilleDad26
Seems like they like to run at the middle linebackers allot
fallguy17
Seems like they like to run at the middle linebackers allot Yes, but the backs are quick enough to bounce outside. Your LB Corp will get a workout.

fallguy17
Kirby ran the flexbone as well. So the transition to the veer in the flex bone formation would not be a surprising move. When run correctly it is very effective and would give him some early success.
Lacesout
Sure wish waverly could have scrimmaged you guys to see how we could defend against th run
BigSwo
Me too Lacesout. I don't know what happened with that scrimmage but would like to know. Either way I'm glad to hear about what we did in the Munford scrimmage. I have only seen highlights on huddle. I'm certain Munford got some stops but still. .....10-2. That's pretty good. Of course , when you see a score like that you have to ask how good was your opponent. That's a question I want answered. Was Munford just a bad 5A team or is UC really that dominant? I'm hoping for the latter. Go Tornadoes
