Up here the football parents work the race,the band has fund raising and their parents work funfest.You have ( Pal ) and people that donate the same as many schools but one more time,Eastman could give a big two cents about any one school.A lot of the big boys kids go to south and etc.Main thing for those guys is stock options and making a living .Eastman gives to a lot of causes though our donations but No school is singled out for such things as bringing in players

Well I'd say that's probably one of the most embarrassing performances in our history. Just dug our own grave. D-B was clearly better but by 47? I don't know....no positives from this. Snowballed out of control. We get South next week and after them getting pounded by Boone I'm decently optimistic of our chances. Also, I'm beginning to wonder if we should stop playing D-B. No real point to it. Just going to get pounded bar a upset every now and again. A small 5A school just can't keep up with a huge 6A school like D-B in football. Perhaps we need to look into others teams that can rake a good gate (looking at you East).

 

While East and TN High are both close to the same enrollment (200 or so difference), it would be the same thing that you put.  TN High and East would only be a game to get a good gate, and it would only be to the benefit of TN High.  The two years East should have played TN High were last year and this, and that would only be to the benefit of East.  A senior heavy starting team is about to leave East, so if this game comes back it will be TN High dominating them just like it did the 400 other times.  At some time, you have to ask why East would want to keep playing TN High when the outcome is predetermined.  It hurts the East program.  

 

I guess this also goes along with what some people were saying in the thread about kids going where... There are kids in the East Zone who go to South and TN High.  Every year, a few kids will head back to East because they didn't have the correct address to attend TN High.  One of the better athletes in the last few years literally lived right in front of East and went to TN High.  It's tough for some schools to keep those athletes when they know they can travel up the road or across the county.  Consolidation will at least mean there are lines finally drawn in Sullivan County.

Hey, lets see db has a jumbotron by who, a new field house by who, donations to help provide for the band at the rose bowl parade, an to help some recruiting, don't give me that garbage that they don't.

 

The "jumbotron" was provided by Pal Barger, who owns Pals restaurants. The new field house was paid for by donations from the community and tax payer money. There might have been business's that donated money for that and Eastman might have been one of them but I'm not aware of any money Eastman, as a company gave to build the field house. Fund raisers by band parents paid for the bands trip to the rose bowl parade. Recruiting is not allowed by the TSSAA. DB has never been cited for recruiting by the TSSAA. If you have any more made up stories please post them. This is fun.

Well, I've never had a jersey with a 70 on it. I think the 70 is either my age, my birthday, or graduation date. I'm too old to remember. But I have been a DB fan for over 40 years. 1st kid went to DB in '97. Witnessed the best years of DB football. Was right in front of Adonis Johnson at Oak Ridge when he stepped out of the way of 2 OR tackles and allowed them to nearly knock each ofher out. Fun times. Not so much anymore. I'm waiting on a particular retirement.
