Region 7-A

Recommended Posts

I think we're ok at qb though.Johnson kid has two more years and faster but probably would have been able to move him somewhere elase had the middle school qb stayed. So now,I'm guessing he will be the QB.Very fast. So,dont think we're going to hurt at QB at all.Just getting the younger guys stronger and up to speed.ThE Tubbs kid was a good running back but theres another kid on the squad last year, maybe a Gross kid,.Not the lineman.Played him some at running back, some at receiver.Has the body and I thought the size and speed to be a stud.Dont think they used him enough though.

you never have enough rbs or linemen

Lake Co 68 may know.I havent heard of anyone other than the QB

I had hopes of seeing LC back and competitive, but I'm hearing through the cudzu vine that those up coming freshmen are scattering like a covey of quail. Transfers to DC, OCC and some just not playing. What's happening down at the lake?

I don't know where all the rumors are coming from. We have not lost any freshmen other than the QB. We have more freshmen on team since the early 90s. In fact LC overall numbers are higher than any other falcon team since the early 90s. My source is the best source a person can have

good news

Great news! Kinda gets old hearing a Lake or Crockett County going to Dyer County for High School, but I'm glad to hear that kids are playing football for Falcons. Obviously you guys haven't been the same for a few years, kind of falling off the earth (largely because Peabody and UC have taken this region by storm). I'm picking Lake County to finish 4th in this region. I'm hearing rumbles that South Fulton has a freshman DT that's impressive, but he hasn't played a snap on Friday night (could be a sophomore). This isn't a region that I'm familiar with, but Falcons will be my pick to go fourth. This region is a lot like 7-3A.

7-1A is a tough region right now. Someone has coined the phrase "Death Row Region". Very remanisant of the region in the 80's that included Milan, UC, and Humboldt.

The SF kid is a freshman this fall. He already has the attention of some D1 programs, just from summer camps. I haven't seen him play, but I have a friend that is "very" close to that program. He's telling me the kid is one of that come along every 15 to 20 years for a program.

Top three will be Dresden, UC, Trenton-Peabody (prob in that order), with exciting race for 4th (prob decided last game of season), with methinks LC getting final playoff slot. As happened last few years I also think a Reg.7 team will make it to Cookeville. That my two cents.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
