TheAmbassador
Playing football?? I hope our administration would do the same and remove him completely. So you should be able to threaten a teacher and an administrator and go down the road 10 miles and get a clean slate?? All the other incidents should endure the proper processes in place but to say you are entitled a clean slate is naïve! And I would never question the "Captains" ability to direct his ship! Just giving my thoughts about the situation from a players perspective. That's not what happened. I wouldn't go to far out on a limb with assumptions until it's proven. Also as I was saying earlier. If a kid is enrolled at SP and he's arrested while he's enrolled here then we would have him removed from the team. You're forgetting one very important detail about public education. Something that happens outside of school with the law isn't school related. Maybe Alabama is different than Tennessee with their laws and procedures. rikberry
Let's see your stance here. What do you do in that situation as administration? Do you tell a 16-year-old kid sorry man you messed up no education you don't have a future anymore? I thought as adults we are supposed to lead and guide our youth to learn from those mistakes? Wouldn't that be awesome if the kid turned around and got an education and made something of himself instead of drifting off down a dark path? I'm just curious would you really cut some down at 16 years old when they come seeking opportunity? I agree with you. I now see that you and the rest of the skilletheads are only interested in this young man's future. I apologize. I now see because of re-reading your first post that you were much more deeply involved and invested in his case than just what you learned from Hudl highlights. Please re-post it so that anyone who missed or misconstrued the first time can gain an understanding into your real motivation. Sorry to run but its time to . TheAmbassador
Thanks 5th, I was worried it was something really bad. Kids will be kids. This may not only wipe spray-gate from memory but also sweep them Owls from Chattanooga out of the headlines. How is that going?
rikberry
It's coming time to http://www.hudl.com/video/3/3881513/5721d140dfe23b2d68b6b09b This is a real tear jerker here. Such compassion for another's future is rarely seen nowadays.

I was real worried and now that I know that it is much ado about nothing I am relieved.

The kid should not be REWARDED with playing organized sports period! Education strong "Yes"! Extra curricular activities no way no how! Let me tell you somethin, you don't come to class you don't play, don't have the grades you don't play, you fight you don't play, you disrupt class you don't play, you threaten another individual you don't play. Hopefully you get my point! You commit a crime or if you are charged with a crime you shouldn't play anything until the verdict of said offence is cleared. It blows my mind that some SP folks would welcome this? I can't believe the Marion County school board would allow this either! If the kid is so ready to make a change he shouldnt need athletics to do so.. it's obvious us adults are failing him by just letting him leave one school for another just to pick up where he left off... Maybe we need to ask the elderly lady how she feels about this mess!

Maybe we need to ask the elderly lady how she feels about this mess! I've seen lots of kids who were bailed out of everything their whole life, when they get grown and no one can bail them out they have a hard to grasping consequences. Tough love is a hard thing for a parent, but without it, you fail the kid. I hate spanking my kids but I'd hate even worse to see them dead or in prison.Without consequences, this world would be total chaos.
