32hammer
Did the 2 games against Maryville shatter the perception of invincibility that Fulton had for a few years? Did those losses help AE, West, etc keep their feeder kids at their HS? Will Fulton drop the series?

No I think they will try to continue series .. too bad they couldnt get it scheduled when Fulton was very good in 2012 - 2014 .. but they enjoy playing good teams .. they played Alcoa until Alcoa dropped playing right before the Falcon run in 2013 - 2014 .. most teams knew how good Fulton was those years and didnt want to play ... but both Maryville games were competitive 1st half .. but the Rebels are too deep and Quarles is just too good on offense .. wish my VOLS had him as a Offensive Coord ... the guy can flat play call ... I dont think it has anything to do with their dropoff ... things go in cycles unless you are Maryville and Alcoa ...

Alcoa replaces them with Catholic. Alcoa beats Catholic. The Irish beat Fulton and goes on the win state. Ha. Yeah Alcoa really scare of them buzzards! The F5 still 14-1 against Fulton and undefeated against Catholic. In a couple of years Alcoa should peak in enrollment in the new school. Is WILL put them in 4A! Get ready Tad the F5 will on the schedule EVERY year! Can't wait!

CypressBend
Simple! No! Some schools just aren't scared of competition or losing Some want to play against the best available and aren't scared! Kudos to fulton

Fulton would have still lost to Maryville those three years and probably dropped at least one to Alcoa. Its not a coincidence Fulton was undefeated the years they didn't play Alcoa or Maryville. As far as Alcoa not wanting to play Fulton when they were good, Alcoa plays Maryville every year and Maryville is better than Fulton. Fulton is a great program with great athletes, community support and coaching, Maryville and Alcoa are just a step above.
