I hear It was tried

Conflicting schedules but We would love that game

I don't think matthews is one bit afraid to get beaten.

He just wants to play the very best teams he can to prepare his kids for the next level

It's not about record

It's about challenging kids and putting them in difficult games

Again, does YOUR team play Maryville?? I'm thinking I already know the answer, sissy! 😂

Maryville jr stepping up to maryville is because they HAVE to

Rankin would drop that game in a second

Last year CPA beat Catholic pretty bad. Alcoa beat CPA 20-0.

Alcoa is a 2A enrollment school . Alcoa is the only school to beat 6A Maryville in the regular season in the last 15 yrs and the only team to beat Maryville twice in the last 15 years including 6A playoffs.

When Fulton was on its big run of 3A and 4A championships they played Alcoa 6 times.

the scores were Alcoa 46-8, Fulton 24-21, Alcoa 27-7, Alcoa 49-0, Alcoa 28-8 and Alcoa 30-7.

Alcoa is a 2A school that steps up to 3A and plays the best in the state the largest classifications, including private school state champions.

Objective evidence is hard to argue with.

Morristown West beat Maryville in the regular season in 2001 at Maryville 31 to 24.

Alcoa enrollment was around 500 students back when they played Fulton in 2012. The numbers are closer 625 now that new high school was opened last fall. Over the next couple of years, Alcoa will systematically increase enrollment. I figure the enrollment to be around 750 in two years. That 50% more students in 6 years. I'd like to see Alcoa elect to move up next next TSSAA enrollment review/cycle.

Look out Ladies! The F5 getting bigger!

4A would be a nice fit for Alcoa and bad news for Fulton and Knox Catholic

    • And that needs to go, Charter ,private ,magnet, city and any school that operates differently than pure public schools should be separated. What really needs to be done is address urban and rural. About all the usual powers have access to several kids from other schools period.
    • Sad deal. Hate it. So the coach that kicked her off is now fired??
    • Slightly off topic from a gender standpoint but just observed several boys volleyball games in the Knoxville area for a short spring season. The guys seemed to have a great time. There were several club players on each team but several football, basketball and tennis players involved. Knoxville Catholic, Maryville, Heritage, Knoxville West maybe William Blount had teams. Thanks to Coach Brent Carter from Knoxville Catholic/K2 for getting it together. I’m sure the coaches involved got several laughs trying to coach guys that really had no idea what they were talking about but pretty athletic and competitive. Catholic’s best basketball player told the coach he had played a lot of 2:3 and 1:3:1 but never a 3:3 LOL Maybe it will catch on with some more schools next year.
