Roane County School Board voted 7-3 for consolidation of all 5 county schools into one school. Still has to go before the county commission to approve the funding of the new school. Rumor is 4 years or so before new school is opened if approved. Hope we can make a good last impression before the small school experience is over

Thankfully the vote will never pass in the near future for the consolidation. Too many people with hometown pride that will fight to the bitter end. I think our Harriman Blue Devils will be around for a long time to come!!!

So today 5 high schools have 60 players in basketball and what like 200 in football and that gets reduced to 12 and like 90 on one team......thats brutal

Brutal is an understatement! I find it hard to believe the commission would pass this. Terrible outcome for student athlete as you stated. Many current athletes would not make the teams and I just don't see these communities supporting this. Sounds like hard ball politics to me.

I read about this last night and if it does happen Roane will have some power house sports teams!!! This will be interesting as time goes on!!! A lot of good athletes will be on the side lines!!!

CF is mostly healthy now... they'll probably beat WB and OD. I hedge a little because it's at WB though.
