WK 7- Dresden's homecoming vs Trenton-Peabody

Success breeds success. And our coaches are on record saying they are just as excited about our future upcoming classes as they are this year's team. When reserves get plenty of playing time (they've probably played as much as starters have thus far) it creates experienced & confident players of the future. Plus our middle school & younger leagues have a great program going, which feeds better prepared players ready for HS. And the coaching staff & behind the scene supporters in all our leagues/levels are awesome. Such ingredients helps a program reload instead of on-again off-again cyclical rebuilding. Our future is so bright we gotta wear shades. The "old Dresden" is gone & in past, the current competitive Dresden of these past few years is here to stay. But what do I know, eh? I just a dumb hick from the sticks & don't have ultimate knowledge of the future or of a team's abilities like some posters seem to have. I simply enjoy this game of football and try to encourage our home team. A stupid idea I know. But it's what I do.

The only way I see this being a ballgame is if Dresden looks ahead to their Oct. 14th matchup with the Tornadoes. However, I don't see that being an issue, given their tremendous coaching staff and senior leadership.

And by no means do I believe Peabody is a slouch. I just believe Dresden is that good this year. One more thing... to me, it seems that Peabody usually plays with a little more passion and emotion (more so than most West TN schools in the area) so maybe they can muster up that energy Friday night and come to Dresden ready to play 4 quarters.

Dresden - 48, Peabody - 20

I think this is a very accurate score for this game. Dresden's D has been very good but don't get the attention that our high flying offense does. So far this season our D has given up 24 points total with Ballard scoring 18 and Westview scoring 6. We've pitched 3 shutouts so far. Granted Trenton will be the best offense we've faced so I can see them making several scores but not enough to win the game. But you never know.

I don't think the high-flying, multi-weapon, scoring-machine of the Lions will be shut down, so Golden Tide has to plan on outscoring us. But Dresden's defense is gonna rise up to this occasion imo. I'm thinking our Big D will show up & show out once again. It's just what we do. And come playoffs, we won't forget what happened last year. Focusing one game at a time, going step-by-step to that ultimate goal of Gold everyone seeks. Dresden has yet to earn one of those coveted awards, and our Lions are so hungry for one it's indescribable. They putting in the hard work and training, playing like madmen on the field, and our opponents are standing in the way of The Prize. This is the Year Of The Lions. We have unfinished business and will go 15 in '16. Gonna take an awfully bad game by Lions coupled with a great game by opponent to stop us. Yes it's possible, but I don't think very probable. Lions all the way!

Your opponents won-loss record is 9-23. You'll have a better idea of what kind of team you have after the next three games.

Yes sir you right. And others will see just how solid we are too. And we still got lotsa areas to improve upon. As long as we keep getting gooder & gooder each game hopefully we'll peak at just the right time: namely, Cookeville.

I've kept quiet all week, but I think win or lose a glaring weak spot will get exposed this coming week. From what I've seen and heard the Lion's line leaves a lot to be desired. Many are comparing them to the Humboldt of a few years ago with all the athletes you can wish for, but little to no line play. You can jump on me all you want now, but mark my words if the Dresden offensive line doesn't pick it up, there are gonna be a lot of shocked crying faces come November.

Thus my statement: we have areas needing improvement, which ARE getting worked on & better each practice & every game. Time will tell if Lions gel at right time or not. I think they will. Esp our line play. Of course I always think the best for our team. Isn't that what good fans do? The coaches we have know what they are doing and our young men are responding to their molding. I'll leave the coaching & correcting up to the staff, I'm just the loudmouth crazy noisy fanatic in the stands (& on forums) pulling for & encouraging our Lions. It's who I am. What I do. So be it. :D GO LIONS! #1 ALL THE WAY! :D
