Dresden Verses Wayne County

i did and trust me it's not them . Kinda funny they are two that never say a word. Hey if doing this to your own team to motivate them works then so be it. It's kinda like painting stuff on the field house and blaming it on the other team it happens all the time

My favorite was dead chickens hanging on the fence with players names written on them.  Think the paint was Westview blue. But the blue Lion was pretty good also. Might know who did the chickens but the Lion was opposing school.

What about the linemen. .. spent the past few days talking about the qbs and their weapons barely any time spent bragging on your hogs up front.

Our line is playing their best football of the year right now (both sides). Which is good cause they were a little sketchy at the beginning of the year. Granted it seems like Dresser is best when under pressure and I think he may see a little pressure Friday night.

i forgot about the chickens, but you are right about the lion that was Westview. If I'm not mistaken one of those that did the lion wound up being one of the Dresden teachers son who went to Westview

The harder the battle the sweeter the victory. This will be the toughest game yet for both teams, and the skill position weapons with two top-tier generals running the offense, along with the big monsters in the trenches on both sides of ball are very similar on both teams. (Biggest hope is no injuries for either team.) These tangibles like stats, size, speed, records, etc are all fact-based and easy to analyze, compare & speculate upon, even make predictions based on these. Lions & Wildcats are about as close to being dopplegangers in these areas as possible. But to me, the "intangibles" are just as important, if maybe not more so. This includes a lot of stuff hard to put numbers on, and in my guts, I just think these unseen, hard-to-measure intangibles will be the secret weapons that puts Dresden over the top. Time will tell. Btw, hope Wayne Co. players have a great Thanksgiving with lots of turkey. Yummy yum. This is hog & ham country up here. Hehe

Oh yeah.. As bad as refs were in several playoff games this year, they called a super game in Dresden vs UC. On a wet field after 2+ hour storm with cold weather there were not many penalties at all. Only one 5yd one on Lions. Dresden playing very disciplined now, peaking at right time. We will need everything like this to come together in alignment Friday. Which I think it will for Lions. Plus WC already has gold in trophy cases, it's Dresden's turn. Hasn't everyone heard about playing fair & sharing? Taking turns? Lol. It's part of what will make America great again. Right?

Well, I usually wait until around this time of year to get on CoachT because, hey, anything before the semifinals doesn't matter, right? haha.

Anyways, after having read through this thread, I feel like I just watched a reality TV show involving a mix of The Bachelor/Bachelorette and Jerry Springer/Maury. And for that, I thank you to those of you who have provided such entertainment lol. Who would've thought you could get on a high school football thread and be that entertained--for FREE?

Anyways, back to the game. As a Dresden supporter, I can say without a doubt that WC is as talented a team as we have faced all year. Their QB and Defense are (almost) second to none--though I may be biased, I think Dresser and the Dresden Defense have the slight edge in this game. Rice is also an unbelievable QB and will pose a real threat and challenge to the Dresden secondary. #20 for WC is also a hoss who will most definitely cause some issues--but I believe Dresden will adjust and overcome (thus is the game of football). Dylan Yates is also a hoss who will also definitely cause some issues for WC's offense and defense.

This goes without saying, but both teams could not be more motivated and both clearly see what is at stake with this game.

That being said, giving credit where it is due to both sides--I think Dresden has the edge in this one because of a few X-factors in Dresden's stable of athletes/receivers (Thomas, Jones, Hutcherson, Little Yates to name a few), Jordan Mitchell and Brice Williams (both rarely mentioned, but difference-makers nonetheless), and the fact that we are fortunate enough to have the home field advantage.

Good luck to both teams and I pray it is an injury-free game. Go Lions!

Score Prediction:

-Dresden: 49

-WC: 42

    • Tough situation.  Not sure the ROI is there right now.   Might be better options that are cheaper.
    • Yeah summer ball is really fun, but a lot of coaches are trying to play several kids to get much needed reps that they are not accustomed to. I would imagine Gibson County will have lots of players playing to get much needed reps. Want to win games but got to get experience as well and the rotation will be much deeper. I will be at MTSU, UTM Bethel and others. MTSU is the one I really look forward to.
    • So who are the new additions to the staff? Serious answers only please.
    • Its always interested to see the state teams the following summer after losing or not losing seniors and getting freshman and transfers. It's almost time.
    • Maryville has Alcoa on the schedule at the right time of the season which helped last year instead of at the first of the year not knowing much. West will be hard pressed to repeat this year but next will be a different story.
