District 11AA 2017

The Fairview coach should have gotten Coach of the Year. The turnaround they made from last year to this year is absolutely remarkable.

I would completely agree that the Fairview coach would be deserving if there had not been a pattern in years past of giving it to the winner of the regular season. The Fairview coach has taken that team from arguably the worst in the district to honestly one of the best. Please take no offense to the "worst in the district" comment. I would also like to combat the comment from another member stating that it really isn't coaching to have the 2nd best player move into your school. I would follow that up with, wasn't it great coaching to continue having your team win when THE best player in the district was out 3 weeks during the peak of the district games??? All in all, it is all water under the bridge. If in the future they decide to go with a coach that has actually done a great job and not automatically give it to the reg season champs that is cool but be consistent.

Got to see both 12AA games last night.

Regional Matchups

Cascade @ Camden

I think the Lions handle Cascade. Don't think it'll be a nail biter at any point in the game.

Creek Wood @ Marshall County

Marshall is very quick and fast. They ran a suffocating full court press most of the game vs Giles. They see the court well and have shooters. Creek Wood has their hands full in this one.

CPA @ Stewart County

This is not the same CPA with the big time flashy super talent of past. What they do have is several guys who play sound fundamental basketball and are coached extremely well. Maddux was still coaching hard with a minute left and a 12pt lead. Stewart can play with them if they come to play. They have a puncher's chance in this one.

Fairview @ Giles County

Who knows? Does the Giles show up that beat CPA, or does last night's Giles team show up? Does Fairview come to play or not? This may be the most evenly matched game of the four.

Just my initial opinion after seeing 12AA last night. I could be way off. Second round moves to Creek Wood? Is that correct?

Look for CPA to destroy SC. Giles to beat Fairview by 10. Marshall by 15 over CW. Cascade and Camden in a close one (pick 'em).

CPA is a very disciplined team, as they normally are. The PG makes things go! Tall kid is very talented but without the PG running it the way he does I dont know how far they'd go... they would still be a solid squad but i was impressed with him the most. 1st half was rough for SC as some calls where iffy and Nolen got in foul trouble early... pressure killed SC as im sure it does most teams... Wallace definitely coached these SC boys up well this year and they have a solid core coming back... hopeful Rose can come back healthy and take over Nolen and Casseli's contributions and maybe have someone step up as a solid #2 scorer... maybe #24 can be that guy... 65-44 was final if i recall, but subs came in and SC hit about 4 three's at end to make it a bit closer... again congrats to SC... anyone heard any other scores? curious about Cascade v Camden?
