Small towns and their schools have a special relationship...the football games on Friday nights are the biggest thing in town, some could say that they're the only thing is why, but it's just different when you went to school with most of the team's parents and grandparents, and have known those kids for most of their lives. Big schools with huge enrollments should have more fans by association, but the smaller ones' post rates on here tell the tale pretty well...nobody has more faithful followers and community support than the little guys.

Amen!! Dresden football games has become an event for all of Weakley County. These Dresden players have really been active in the community too. Visiting daycares & elementary schools & one special little guy gets a photo session every week with the players. That's what's special about small town football.

Same here...kids visited a local nursing home, and presented a former Ole Miss player with a jersey...they also "host" a kids camp in the summer...all fans love the team, but they're the little guy's hero's, and they love being "coached up" by the players!

What in the world???? Why are others bashing new folk on here? Everyone has to start somewhere. This game has the whole state excited. I never heard of this place until recently, and my work/ biz keeps me busy, often travelling. So big deal i cant always post, so what? Is there a secret handshake required? Is posting only for a few people? Insiders only? (Must be a bunch of liberals in here!) I keep up with our football and go when able to, watch all kind of diff sports. I born in '86 and have a family, but I not stupid enuf to tell you my name. That'd be idiots. People get crazy on here, can only imagine real life. These stupid accusations make me sick. Having lived in big cities and small towns both, little country towns are better. By far. So are smaller businesses. Churches. Schools. Lots better than big ones I think. These two teams have all the small town teams & schools excited. After Friday night though one team & town won't be so happy. Guess who?
