From Stephen Hargis' twitter account:

"I asked if he was ok and he didn't respond so I just stayed still and didn't want to move," Jackson said. "My team said get up but I said..

"No, this man is hurt bad. I think he's knocked out and maybe worse. So I just laid there with him unconscious on top of me."..

We all wanted to win today but at the end of the day he has family to go home to and his life to live and I didn't want to hurt him worse"

Jackson admitted to being emotional while lying on the ground with Zeman. Asked about tears on his face as he came off the field, he said...

"I was just praying for him man. I was worried for him."

Unbelievable show of sportsmanship & just being heads up beyond his age. Well done Tristian Jackson. Zeman was talking and moving afterward.

Awesome young man that represents his school, community, & parents in an humanitarian fashion!

Good game by both teams and congrats to Marion on a great season. There was only two teams playing today and you were one of them. Let me first say all prayers up for Zeman and #3 that was the worst feeling I have ever had at a football game. Hope those guys are fine. I also want to address two people personally Howdoitknow and Tweedledumb both of you guys are the biggest haters I've seen on this board and your cowardly talk and updates on the game told me all I need to know about you soft batch cookies. You wouldn't last long where I'm from. Now for the I told you so's. I told you we were a team full of playmakers and they made plays today. Although Richardson didn't have his best game he was out there and that was huge for the team. I'm sorry I was too giddy and predicted the wrong person to rush for 200 yards. He scored the 2 touchdowns but It was Tijuan Johnson who I told you about also who rushed for 200 and deservedly won MVP. This was a great win for Trezevant over a great Marion program we will enjoy this one. I promise you I will address

the Alcoa and 3A talk later on but for now we are BACK TO BACK CHAMPIONS of TSSAA 2A classification.

That what most MC fans do when the play a team like the Bears hate hate hate more so when MC get the L

I agree, but that's not enough... THIS is the best of what sports are...first thing on my mind after Zeman gave the "thumbs up" and my mind was eased for his well being was that a group of people would make an example, and try to change the game that I love. I regret that anyone be injured at all, but the actions on the field and response afterward by Mr. Jackson should be publicized in order to raise awareness of those who think that football players are mindless monsters who play with the intent to "hurt" those that they play against. I also love the fact that it was a Memphis kid ( often thought of as thugs) that showed his humanitarian side. CONGRATULATIONS YOUNG MAN...HERO OF THE WHOLE CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND.

    • Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. I wrote about many of the issues here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/11/17/grounds-for-investigation-and-suspension/ I interviewed Winfree after she was dismissed from the team and wrote about it here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/12/01/a-new-interview-with-sable-winfree/ Winfree had been on teams in Warren County since the fourth grade and never been dismissed from a team. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
    • What is the hold up here? I have not heard anything in weeks. Are they waiting for the right person or is something else going on?
    • Per usual, we'll be hard to beat in the regular season, I'm sure. It's the post season that I'm more worried about, specifically the coaches. Maybe they'll be able to make some adjustments that will keep the momentum in our favor. How's Grays recovery coming along?
    • Something don’t add up here a college coach is not going to turn away a good player they need just because they didn’t get along with their high school coach
    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
