Well, we didn't hold up our end of the bargain last night. On this night, N Greene was the better team and deserved to win. We picked a bad time for the top of the lineup to stop hitting the baseball hard on the ground, and start hitting a bunch of easy fly balls.

Congrats to both N Greene and Greenback. Somebody bring back that trophy to ETN! This Ram fan will be rooting for both of you.

As for us, we'll look forward to seeing the Cherokees in the fall. And y'all thought you were done with us....lol. Seems odd to say, and almost unfair to my son after such a tough end to a great sophomore season....Monday starts football season! Go Rams!

Well, the positive side is that GB gets to play at the launching pad. If the wind is blowing right, you guys should hit some bombs for sure. And the food......holy cow, you won't believe the concession stand!

On the not so positive side, you'll probably get to try it off the best pitcher in the state game 1 in Weathers from Loretto. You never know how these things will play out. They may not even be able to throw him if he threw too many last night. They may hold him back for a potential elim game, if they have a decent #2. We got a similar draw last year, and it worked out fine. We got by all the best teams and then got beat by the team nobody saw coming.....that just might be Greenback this year! We know you guys are really good, but nobody else really knows a lot about you guys. Advantage Cherokees!

Poor North Greene got the hammer also, even if they win game one. I'm sure rooting for them though. They were absolutely the most hospitable fans we've encountered all year.

Let's face it.....there is no easy road on either side this year. The bracket is loaded top to bottom. Good luck folks. Enjoy the trip. It is a blast for the kids and the parents.

I think you pretty much covered every corner with this one. I'm still in shock that you guys aren't gonna be in Murfreesboro this week. 6 straight state tournament apperances along wih a title and a couple runner-ups is nothing short of amazing! As for Greenback i'm still sticking by my preseason prediction in this very thread. I thought coming into this year that they were no doubt state tournament material, but that they were deep enough to make a run at it all! The bracket plays to their advantage, but make no mistake that this tournament is loaded. I think come Friday morning we'll be watching Greenback and Goodpasture play for it all!

Ran into 2 hot pitchers today, and both of our teams got shut out. State is simply a different level of play. Good luck to both teams tomorrow and going forward.

It's time for a break around these parts. It has been fun yapping with everyone. We're off to D-II. Should be interesting. We'll see the Cherokees on the turf this fall. Can't wait! Have a great summer everyone!

    • Yes this process is moving slower than I would have expected
    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
