Well I didn't expect that outcome tonight. Gordonsville will struggle with the Owls next week as they are coming off 500+ yards in their opener against Macon but it will be a good game as always. I didn't know much about Watertown going into this game but they must have been better than I was expecting after losing some talent last season

This is ridiculous. It's time for Gordonsville to get rid of its coach and bring in fresh blood. He's been a disaster aside from lucking into one good year 5 years ago.

Really??? Slow down there crusader. It's not like Gville is a hotbed of talent year in/year out...competing with Smith Co. I think Moose does an excellent job with the talent/resources he has. Sometimes it's the Jimmies and Joes, not the X's and O's

All yall selling Hacketts D short!  For the 3rd year in a row....... Watertown will double them up!  23-7 Good guys!

Y'all might want to listen to the Bean man a little bit more.  Id say 23-7 was a pretty good shot aside from giving the "fun and  gun" about 7 times too much credit!! :D

BTW Human interest story...pretty sure that matchup has been in the making for about 10 years seeing as how both of those QBs grew up together with their dads coaching together in Purple! Two great kids, Good luck to both going forward!

Hoobie Doobie Bad Curse!!!!

Price was the best athlete on the field. He would get 15-20 touches a game for me.

My summation, and I'll be vague, because I'm not going to call anyone out personally, but there's some personnel decisions that don't make sense to me, especially in the first game.

Secondly, when you return you're whole offense, and can't score any points, it's time to look in the mirror and re-evaluate some things.

Case in point, when we got under center, we were getting chunks of yardage until a penalty. We didn't get in that formation again, but there's more to it than that.

Either way, Waterown won. Good luck to them for the rest of the year.

    • Did this happen? Does anyone know? Ripley has their HC job posted on the bulletin board over the weekend.
    • Coalfield definitely isn't the same team they've had the past few years. They are still the favorites to make it out of their region because of their pitching. They have 1 arm that sits low to mid 80s and 2 other arms that are mid to high 70s with good off speed stuff. If you can avoid their top 3 bats in their lineup then you have a shot to beat them. Their 4-9 hitters are average at best. Wartburg's ace was able to shut them down last week in the game Wartburg won 4-2.
    • It is the longest season. Plus, 30 games a year. No Christmas break. I would say basketball is the most time consuming.
    • No movement on Chester? South Gibson? Gibson County?
    • Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. I wrote about many of the issues here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/11/17/grounds-for-investigation-and-suspension/ I interviewed Winfree after she was dismissed from the team and wrote about it here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/12/01/a-new-interview-with-sable-winfree/ Winfree had been on teams in Warren County since the fourth grade and never been dismissed from a team. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
