Rhea County (1-2) hosts McMinn County (1-2)

Battle of former Region 4-5A foes. Rhea downed Walker Valley 35-14 in the region opener, and McMinn got blanked by Maryville for their second straight loss of the season. Who wins this one?

I look for Rhea to continue what we did to Walker Valley. We looked like we gained back some of that swagger against WV, and McMinn will be a good opponent to continue that. Hopefully we continue to get healthy and playing good football.

Rhea County wins these next two games with little effort. However, we are going to have to find a way to keep so many kids from getting banged up and get some folks healthy before we face Bradley and then Catholic in a few weeks.

Rhea should win. Will be another great game for Simon. Kid is having a heck of a season thus far.

Simon already has over 400 all-purpose yards through three games. Over 300 of them are rushing, 91 receiving, and has 50+ on special teams returns. I think he also has five or six touchdowns.

The Cherokees lost about 20 to graduation, and have about 60 freshmen and sophomores on the roster.  I think Rhea will win by 20.
