BA & MBA part 3

I will say this ... I've seen where MBA has traveled to some public schools to play them on their fields in recent history. I've seen MBA play public schools on a neutral field. I haven't seen BA do that in recent history. I can speak for the Whitehaven folks. Whitehaven would love to play either one, but it would have to be a two way deal. One year at their place and one year at Whitehaven. Otherwise, it probably won't happen. Whitehaven has been burned by private schools in the past not holding up their end of the bargain. That's how Lausanne got on the schedule. The two coaches know and respect each other. Lausanne's coach held up his end of the bargain and came to Whitehaven FIRST. Next year, we go to Lausanne. Locally, we scrimmage with MUS every summer and both parties are content with that arrangement. We don't play or scrimmage CBHS. We don't scrimmage or play Briarcrest. Or any other local private school for that matter. It would make sense for us to play one of the local D2-3A schools, wouldn't it?

So, if BA wants some ... do what Lausanne did. I'm sure it would happen. Until then ... we all speculate. I've read on here where some D2 yahoo asked me ... "How come BA has to call Whitehaven?". They don't. However, if Whitehaven calls them ... that's going to be the offer ... home/home. If BA isn't going to do a home/home deal, then why should Whitehaven call in the first place?

Whitehaven has three region games on the schedule. They have 7 non-region games to schedule. It can be done if both parties can work out an arrangment. BA, MBA, it doesn't matter. Whitehaven has teams to avoid, duck, and dodge them every year. A lot of folks are just plain ole scared to play Whitehaven. It's ridiculous.

I think you guys would be better off playing 2 really good teams early on - maybe ba and Fayetteville ark or someone similar. Would prepare you a little better.

get your butts whipped and maybe you would not be at home watching tv right now with BHS !

Idk just a thought for coach S. Year end and out your guys have the best looking team in uniform but you disappoint most often when it’s on the line . I enjoyed last year but this year you guys laid a big fat egg in my mind.

didnt live up to expectation and imo that is partly due to the SOFT schedule

The expectations are there every year. We've won two Championships out of three trips to the state championship game with the scheduling we've done in the past, including this season.

Quite frankly, I don't want to play a big named program without the home/home contract in hand. I really don't understand why a BA or whatever wouldn't sign on.

Come on BA, let's do this.

Well, one can hope can't he?

I seriously doubt it would happen. Now, if Fayetteville wants to sign on the dotted line.

We've tried to early season scheduling with a so called 'good private school program'. They didn't keep their word. I don't trust them. I know coach S doesn't. Neither does the Whitehaven administration.

Home/home contracts are required to get something like that done.

Whitehaven's not scared. Lausanne's not scared. As far as I can tell, they are the only two.

The whole 'what' would so and so public do against BA/MBA etc do, is what started this whole Public/Private split when Rankin threw his hissy fit with his partner at T$$AA in the first place.

Having watched both BA and the Haven play THIS year, I have to give the edge to BA.  MUCH better discipline and execution of plays.

I got a novel idea, let fire the T$$AA and get a new organization that cares about the kids first and their vacation/salary last.  Then combine public and private again and go to 4 classes tops.  For the state finals bring in refs from another state that do not have a dog in the hunt!

Has Whitehaven ever played Pulaski Academy out of Little Rock?  I do know that they have trouble finding teams to play them and they traveled to Texas and played one of the better teams from the lone star state.

Whitehaven hasn't played Pulaski Academy. Whitehaven hasn't played a team out of Texas either ... that was Ridgeway. Whitehaven has played a couple teams out of Missouri and a team from Alabama. That's when we would do our annual 'Travel Game'. We haven't done the 'Travel Game' in a couple of years now.

Scheduling is already a difficult task and folks are just scared to play. Especially local schools. It's frustrating. We aren't the only public school with this issue. I see where Maryville and Oakland worked something out. Maybe Whitehaven will work something out with Cane Ridge. I know that would make a whole lot of money and i'm sure both schools wouldn't have a problem with getting their fan base to travel. Something to consider in my mind. Leave the rest of these jokers alone, and play someone who is willing to play. Someone who is willing to sign a home/home contract. Both schools would make money on the game. Sounds like a no-brainer to me.

All you can do is keep plugging.

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
