My only worry is the offensive line losing one of the best coaches ( David Ellis) to ever coach that position. He could take a new line wiped out by gratulation from the year before and keep on ticking. I saw a lot of break   downs in the line this spring against Bearden in the scrimmage when they were in our backfield right as the ball was being exchanged. I could care less if Nick Saban is coming to coach, all I want is to make sure we don't lose any ground on the front line with the loss of four seniors from last year.

Is Waters taking over the OL? From what I'm hearing, they aren't going to far down the road to get this coach.

Who coached the o-line during spring practice?

I'm sure Water's did. They didn't look horrible or anything like that but when you have to replace that many linemen and lose the coach as well there will be some adjustments.  Just seen a few times Bearden was in our backfield on a few missed blocks. There was more I was impressed with than not.

    • Playing high school sports is a privilege not a right.  The college did not have to rescind the scholarship.  Scholarship offers are pulled all the time for a number of reasons. That was 100% their choice.  A coach can keep, cut, or dismiss any player that they want to without reason anytime they want.  Is that the right way to run a program?? I don't think that it is, but these are the facts of the matter. This case has absolutely 0% chance of going in the plaintiff's favor. Futhermore, I'd imagine that these administrators and the coach are a part of some teaching or coaching organization that will cover at least 1 million dollars each in legal fees. Obviously the kid and her family feel like there were "damages" thus the lawsuit.  Unfortunately, the law is not on their side in this case.
    • Maryville will recapture the loses from last year against West, Bradley and Farragut. The Bearden game will be the tough one but I look for the wheels to come off that ride somewhere down the road because of all the crap that goes on there. I know to many parents there and some of the things I've been told and some of the post a few of them have made on facebook. They all can't be liars.
    • If Heritage moves down and Alcoa moves up the best thing for Heritage is to do what William Blount did when theystopped playing Maryville or meet certain defeat. Honestly can't see Alcoa not moving up the way the county is growing. Might be in the Mountaineers best interest to stay in 5A because none of those teams on their schedule are anything close to Alcoa.
    • I say over as well. Barney, regarding the move to 4A, will the cross-town blowhards move up as well??
