Peabody's Mickey Marley. Big surprise to see Hodum leave for Fayette-Ware.  It will be interesting to hear the real reasons he has left Henderson. Problems with getting players eligible may have been an issue between the coach and administration.

I believe Hodum was also an assistant principal making him part of the administration.

That just a guess on Marley?

I would assume Chester County would make an attempt after Tab Vowell from Peabody. Yes, I have mentioned Vowell’s name in previous posts, but I was just kicking the tires. However, this is different. Prinicpial R. Catlett and Vowell we’re together for two seasons, one of them included a 10-0 regular season with a 5A semifinals appearance. They worked good together. They could potentially reunite. However, Chester County doesn’t have much time. Thursday is the first day of February. But take as much time to get the “right” hire.

Meanwhile, this is a head scratcher for Hodum. Obviously, this would be a challenge for him and wish him nothing but the best. Fayette-Ware are automatically in the playoffs. The support from the community is okay, not the best, but have seen worse. They got some talent. Facilities will need to be a huge upgrade. Below average facilities. I do not expect Chester County to make the playoffs in 2018, even if Hodum was there. I do think North Side and Liberty just had bad years, and will reboundce. Chester County somehow lacks the talent compare to others in the region. However, Hodum did get the Eagles to a 10 win season, first ever region championship, and almost upsetted White House Heritage. Needless to say, Hodum did do a good job at Chester County. And I do believe the Chester County job is appealing.

I will share this. The principle of the school is a football guy. He WILL make the best hire for his school. Im not sure why the coach left but he is gone now and that does not matter. The principle is an outstanding guy and loves sports in general especially football. He worked wonders at NSHS in time there. Chester folks please rest assured that your football football program is in good hands. Catlett will give the support a football coach needs from the administration to be successful. I don't know about the talent level that's coming up in Chester but I do know that Catlett will get it right.

Marley - Scratch that thought.

Vowell - very very possible

    • Why? Low pay. Low budget thanks to the Rotary milking the programs revenue. Foul smell. There are other negative things... Positives: the players and being toward the top of the classification numbers wise.
    • What we have here is an influx of outsiders raining down on the town of Maryville like a swarm of locust trying to change our culture into the same crap they moved away from. I have no issues with anyone coming here but don't bring your politics with you. Most people around here never pay attention to the elections and keep letting the same ole rats and vermin right back in the back door and wonder why things are like they are. The problem at Maryville High is mainly due to letting outsiders get a foothold on control and shove their agenda down everyone's throat. Anyone that leaves there or let's say ranoff are replaced with an outsider with the same mindset. Eventually Maryville High will never be the same as it once was which I'm beginning to believe already but it's only chance of survival are to recruit people that will get in there and reverse the damage that has already happened.
