Yes and they lost to SCHS, Lawrence Co and Lincoln Co. They will be 4th at best next year and I don't think they have won a district championship since girl's basketball went to 5 on 5. Moore Co on the other hand wins one on a regular basis.

That is a fair assessment. When was last time they were relevant not that anyone can win in region from that district

Looking at Tullahoma schedule they beat SHS Lawrence and LC this past season.  But correct they did lose to both the other teams by large margins. That would be correct it would be more lateral move rather than a step up.

They're all freshman and sophomores. Sophomore Julia Duncan was the district 8 MVP

We have heard about the Duncan girl up here and I have seen her play before but she was at coffee county middle at the time so has been a couple years.  Good ball player how did she end up in Tullahoma and not Murfreesboro?

Is Duncan why Tullahoma keeps trying to hire Murfreesboro coaches?

Riverdale was recruiting her in the fall, but her parents didn’t have the money to make the move to the boro. I think they live in between tullahoma and Manchester.

And yes Riverdale did try to recruit her, except they are not as coy about as shelbyville was. Nor do they the resources to help families move either.

It's the first time I ever remember the district MVP going to someone from a 4th place team who went on to be blown out by a total of 50 points in their final two district games. On the other hand, it's also the first time I remember all district AND all tournament picks going to lower seeds, some of whom were put out of the tournament early.

"Back in the day"...the first place seed almost always got 3 picks to all district. If they had the MVP, they got two others besides. I'm not totally sure how they do the all tournament stuff, but know how the all district selections are made.

I don't think the end results of the selections looked very good on the "committee" this year, but that's my opinion. I'm sure there are others who saw no problem with it.

I agree 100% with you old school. It was crazy that the 4th and 5th place team got as many all district selections as first place. Tullahoma plays 5 on 4 the entire game because all the MVP wants to do is snowbird, her team will eventually get tired of that. So hard to watch that and not get aggravated.

    • Im pretty excited about the new rules that NFHS voted to adopt. Does anyone know if this will take place in Tennessee starting this year? I think I heard/read somewhere that the TSSAA bi-laws say the have to mirror what the NFHS does, and when the NFHS offered the current weight classes as options, TSSAA didn’t adopt them until NFHS made them official. Did NFHS make these changes official starting next season or will it be similar to the weight classes where TSSAA doesn’t change what they are doing until it is  an officially official part of the NFHS rule book? It’ll be interesting to see if it is rolled out for the new TSSAA Middle School season and I saw a post where the youth wrestling in TN was going to vote on adopting it as well.  I’ll pray for all the youth coaches that will have to shoulder the confusion from all those crazy #### parents who already think they know the rules more than everyone else  . Imagine the first time their kid is taken down and a 3 goes up on the scoreboard or their kid gets pinned with only one point of contact in the cylinder. Their heads might explode. i kid, I kid. Sort of. I’m surprised ride time was brought down with all the other changes. I know some argue that it promotes stalling on top, but its been an official scoring method in college forever, so I figure it must be doing something right. Do any of you think that’ll ever be implemented?
    • Crazy how the thread just gets deleted when facts come out.
    • I understand I guess it depends on the school you are with and the time you want to put in.  It’s evident of the schools that don’t put in as much times.  I would say basketball players put in as much time as any sport in our school system and this is coming from a football town.  Bball is a longer season than other sports.
    • 7 Pages of complaining because the lacrosse team put removable lines on the field so that they could practice/play lacrosse  Y'all boys are bored huh lol
