I'm happy for the new coach and may have been the best pick this late in the game anyway. It's just the Charade D-B put on that gets my goat. I find it funny a beer company made the perfect commercial that represents the selection committee for D-B.

As for Joey Christian being hired as head coach I wouldn't say I'm not happy with that. He is "maybe" the best line coach in the state so he's got the "stuff" to apply that to being head coach. He can run the offense as well as Clark did and probably without the brain f@*ts.  If "they" let him fix the defense he'll bring DB back to the top. Aside from Seals I would just as soon of had Christian as anyone else that was mentioned by all those sources.

That was actually a great post and is a clear representation of how you feel...and it all makes perfect sense. Thank you. I heard Seals turned it down but I’m not sure what to believe at this point.

Better team won in my book! Greeneville was the Better conditioned team by far as well! Good game for sure though! 

Glad the defense buckled down in the second half!

Yes, the AD said Seals turned down the offer. Was it a serious offer? You would have to be in the "club" to know for sure. I was told the boosters in Huntington got together and gave him a bump in pay to keep him there. That could be true but none of that adds up.

Seals would have been good. Hard to pull him away. Hope the new coach does well. Would love to see them have a great yr. who will be the def coord?

With Maryville always blockading the road to Cookeville, I'm not sure it is really going to matter who the coach is.   Sure, Maryville can be beaten at times, but I don't see anyone in NET ever getting close.  The best shot DB had was in 2012 and Maryville won by 20.   I think Science Hill got within 20 of Maryville once but that is as close as either team has been.

The "def coord" will be the key piece to the puzzle. If a positive change isn't made there it will be the same ole same ole.

I've said it a thousand times. Nobody this side of Greeneville can play defense. Used to be all of NET but Greeneville did something about it. At DB and Science Hill blood is thicker than water so they pat each other on the back and call it a good day.
