CoachF
That's what it looked like over at West End tonight. Jamont stood tall tonight not only over Hume Fogg but over every other player in Nashville. I was a little skepticle of him after his abbreviated freshman year. That cat can play! Coach Falls told me earlier this week that Jamont is on another level. Not even close, he's on another planet! I can't always agree with Gomab, but he is right on about him. Plays the game at a different speed. Humefogg has a good team but they just had to look up and say WOW!
1979panther
I saw Gordon Friday night also, and CoachF is correct on this one. He was a man amongst boys. He will be hard to handle for sure.
qwmike
I wwent to see jamont play last night I have seen him a number of times and I must say he looks like a new player. He seemed to click on all levels. I dont quite know what you did this summer gordan but it obviously helped you a lot. good luck this year. cdm2003
What were his stats, and how did brandon harriford do against him?
CoachF
He had 14 early in the first quarter with a couple of dunks. He came out with about 3 minutes to go in the 2nd. Brandon had been getting over the flu this week and did not play as well as he is capable. Both teams zoned each other.
BigPoppa
Man that kid can play! I have not ever seen him play until last night and he was impressive. I hope for the sake of his team (and himself) that he improves in the classroom as well and remains eligible after Christmas. It will be interesting to monitor his improvement. He is the best player I have seen this season. I'd put $50 on him versus King Kong.
CoachF
I hope he makes the grades too. I think coach Wright should give him a rest in February against a non region opponent such as ............. East Lit . Yeah, that would be a great time to give that young man a well deserved rest. cobrafan90
the debate is on for the best soph in the state and Jamont definitely has my vote. hume fogg seemed stunned at his athleticism. they kind of stood around and watched him dominate. Tyler Smith vs. Jamont Gordon they went head to head this summer...................this will be a battle until each graduates, the coaches should try scheduling each other. oh yeah jamont is just a 10th grader(UNREAL!!) MAD HOPS, MAD HANDLES, JUST PLAIN MAD SKILLS!!!
rltaylor
Well godzilla Gordon met King Kong Harris, Henry Harris that is. I have seen Jamont Play for three year now and i have seen Tyler play for 2 and my vote goes to Tyler but they both are outstanding. But he is no Henry Harris but he is young and will continue to develope.
otis
Perhaps if you played one on one this kid would be worthy of high rankings. However, in the team game, he leaves much to be desired. Let him do something to help his TEAM win games (not AAU center ball crap either) in 12-AAA and then maybe we can talk. Until then, he's overrated by people who don't truly understand TEAM BASKETBALL. Could he even play for any school with DISCIPLINE?
givbakr2
Jamont has the the ability and desire to be the best out of Nashville since Mercer,I saw him on an outdoor court at 10p.m.on a Saturday nite three weeks ago shooting with some younger kids. The guy works hard and wants to improve but as last nights game would indicate unless someone intervenes and harnesses his abilities and attitude,he will never reach his potential. He doesn't know the game the way he thinks he does and his weaknesses are easily exposed when the game is slowed down to a half court affair. cobrafan90
very good points by otis and givbakr. the kid needs to learn the GAME. he is good but will need a stern guide to keep him from getting to wild and out of control.
