MTGVOL
BGA scrimmaged CA last year and it wasn’t real competitive. BGA handled them pretty easy. Now this doesn’t have anything to do with this year. The Warner might.
MTGVOL
That was supposed to say weather.
GeneralForrest
Anyone who follows 2A ball, and especially Region 5, will tell you that Columbia Academy was a completely different team at year's end, significantly more than typical growth over a season due to added players. I saw BGA, and I also caw CA mid year and playoffs. CA was 2 TDs better. Easily.
RocketHouse
BGA in 2017 was 11-2 and held a halftime lead on the road against undefeated state champion Lausanne Christian. 2018 BGA easily handled one of the 2A favorites (Trousdale) in a preseason scrimmage. Their skill players made the TC play makers look slow at times. TC's skill players are some of the most athletic in 2A. BGA would likely have beaten CA every week last season by double digits and will be a huge favorite Friday night vs FHS. Weather or the new QB having a bad game could keep it close. Yea it was easier with TC best player and starting QB is suspended and not allowed to practice even with all that BGA has great skill players and look like a team that could make it to Cookeville I don't think TC will see that much speed this year BGA should win this game by at least 20 points
GeneralForrest
Completely disagree. I saw BGA and CA twice. - Were you at the BGA Forrest game last year? - Were you at the Forrest Waverly game? - Were you at the Columbia Academy Waverly game? Both those teams had a diff level of speed than last year's BGA team.
GeneralForrest
Who cares about scrimmages? Seriously. Most teams barely use 1st teamers in them.
GeneralForrest
Bet the farm on BGA folks. Forrest might as well stay home. It's all about D1 talent. Team work and toughness has NOTHING to do with it. YOU HEAR ME?

GeneralForrest
I mean, last year with a sophomore team Forrest was TWO PLAYS from a 21-0 lead in the FIRST QUARTER
tcjacket13
Wet conditions help Forrest keep it close as it limits BGA through the air, The rockets will fall behind 2 scores early and it will be a back and forth battle till the end. BGA.35 Forrest
GeneralForrest
i think this idea that rain slows down a passing game is a myth. Unless it's hurricane conditions, teams that throw are still gonna throw.
