Maryville fans might want to reconsider taking 411 to the game since there's road construction going on Hwy. 30 (S White St.) in Athens.  The four lane is closed down to two lanes, with only one lane going in each direction for a little under a mile. I'm not sure what the Hwy. 30 northbound traffic is like an hour or so prior to kickoff time, but it can be very slow-moving and congested at times.  I-75 may be your best option, especially when you consider all the small town red lights and radar controlled areas in and around those small towns on 411.

This looks like an official thread. Why does a McMinn Central fan make a McMinn County thread anyway?

Maybe because, we are about minutes apart, and I know a lot of young men  that play for McMinn because I teach here in Athens and had many of these young men in class, I am friends with the coaches, and I have interest in the game.  I would also like to add, I have the highest respect for the Maryville program, and I enjoy reading your comments as well.

Hope you come over and introduce yourself after the game. I don’t think we’ve met any MacMinn fans. Nope I’m mistaken, I met some very nice football parents at the Aztec market on my way to the game last year. They asked if they could follow me to the stadium.

It was rhetorical. But that's a good answer.

    • Wow I haven't been keeping up with softball had no idea.Been keeping up with baseball and we are slowly fading there.I will check it out!!Thx
    • It is what it is. Sorry DFL.
    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
