5A is wide open this year. Maybe we will see an OR/HC final? I can only hope at least. That game would have a lot of story behind it with Gaddis involved in it.

That would be very special for us here at HC! Even if we lost the game there would be no better team to lose to. But of course we would want the win :)

There are 3 R1 teams in the top 10 (Tenn High, Crockett, Boone).       Crockett has an outstanding team this year, maybe the best ever, however I still predict that none of them make it to the 2nd round of the playoffs.      It always happens that way, a 5-5 or 6-4 R2 team comes to town and whacks a 8-2/9-1 R1 team.     Just the way 5A seems to work out in the east.

3 region 1 teams in the top 10 from a conference that had 4 teams win 0 playoff games last year? Does seem a bit far fetched. Not to mention they have TN High above Boone who gave them their 1 loss

Exactly.       I have seen Boone play, and I am thankful for the wins but we are in no way deserving of a top 10 ranking.     We will drop out in next weeks poll after getting whacked by Science Hill in a couple of days.   Tenn High will also drop out after getting shellacked by Elizabethton on Friday, so that leaves only Crockett remaining ranked amongst R1 teams.

    • Wanted to see if all of you would lift up Kyle James family in prayer. Kyle was one of the best wrestlers to ever come out of Soddy Daisy and as some of you know he lost his house a few weeks ago and now his family and friends mourns his passing. Not sure if any of you were around in early 2000’s when Kyle was wrestling at Soddy, but he was a 3 time state champ and a Fargo AA along with going to Colorado to train to make the Olympic team. That goal was never reached due to medical issues, but he was an amazing wrestler and his family is as good as gold. If you were around at that time and have any pictures of Kyle, please go onto Alexy Winesburgh FB page and post. Thanks, Doug Benton
    • My opinion the 8 teams will be-  Greenback, Wartburg, Gordonsville, Jo Byrns, Eagleville, Bruceton, Dresden, and South Fulton. Gordonsviile is probably the favorite but I wont say it will be an easy road. With the right draw any of the 8 could win it.
    • I understand Gibson Co. will be announced tomorrow with a familiar name. Not sure about So. Gibson.
    • A huge addition to the staff today! Former Hardin Valley legend and Richmond College running back Aaron Dykes was announced as the running backs coach. Rushed for over 3,000 yards at HVA, with 35 total touchdowns. I loved watching in Hardin Valley. I can’t believe he’s at Bearden now. I know he was trying to get a HVA job, I don’t know what happened there and how he ended up at Bearden, but I'm glad he’s here and believe he will be teaching art class as well! What a good get for the staff!!
    • Thoughts? Gordonsville won it last year with a sophomore pitcher and returned almost everybody. Can anyone beat them?
