What is ridiculous about this topic is that they moved for the kid! Not to make Greenback better but to improve his chances at playing at the next level. His playing time/ touches has been significantly reduced this season and he is not getting to showcase his talent. He now has the opportunity to come in to a team that will allow him to do that.

Exactly what I said above

All I'm saying is this is one way schools get away with it. Would be really hard to prove.

So let me get this straight! You’re saying the dad paid the tuition so it would be on record but that the school or someone else refunded him what he paid?

The “kid” lives in another county but plays for a city school district in another county?

Sorry, but he’s not going to get noticed better at Greenback than Alcoa. College coaches already know about him. He can rush for 2000 yards at Greenback and it’s not going to change much. The kid is a legit college player already. Playing for Greenback or SP or Whitwell isn’t going to change anything. Greenback needed another RB, his touches declined so they moved him for this reason. The bad thing here is that I saw a similar situation unfold a few years ago. A kid left SP for Marion County. They moved, but the kid was ineligible because of the location and how close we were to Marion County. Greenback was already head and shoulders above the rest of us. This just makes it an even bigger gap. I’ve said for two seasons that SP would represent the east in 2019.  The way things are panning out though I’m not so sure anymore. Greenback is reloading like most have never seen before.

I don't have a dog in this hunt. But one thing that needs to be considered is that more than likely a "home grown" kid who's probably been playing for the community since youth ball is going to get his playing time cut. I know if I had been working my tail off since jr high to get some playing time and some dude who wasn't getting enough touches to get a scholarship moved in and took my spot I would be pissed off.

Good post and I agree. He needs to earn it not just give it to him. I don’t care how good he is but hey I’m a dad not the coach lol.

Ok,so you talked to the parents and they told you why he came? Some of your comments are so silly.I have alot of respect for the SP faithfull but rants like this is childish. We were very content with our team, knowing we get 22 back before the playoffs was just fine with us.You sir make it sound just like all the other butt sore complainers like we were advertising for a RB well that wasnt so.He is here get over yourself and yesi wouldnt doubt one bit others may show up.As i said it is what it is as long as its legal you would take them too.Good luck to you all tonight.

No sir, I haven’t talked to anyone. You know as well as I do that he came for playing time. It’s not a rant it’s just my opinion. You don’t have to agree with it. I picked Greenback to win it all before this cat showed up. I mean you had your entire team returning. Now the gap is just larger. Sure we would take him as well. However these things have never worked out for us in the past. Good luck to you boys as well and thanks for letting us at least have Roy back.
