Come playoff time it’s one game at a time. It will be tougher if we are lucky enough to get to the quarter and semi finals, because we will have to travel for those rounds due to the bracket flipping. Greeneville is in the same boat having to travel for those rounds as well. We aren’t even thinking about that, though. The region is our priority right now, then one step at a time. I think Friday nights winner will be the region champ. MC has got a solid football team, they run the ball pretty dang well.Thats the only problem, the are too one dimensional, they run the same 3-4 run plays 75-80% of the time. The veer with the FB getting up the gut or the QB keeping it around end, the option to #3, or the QB keeps it. Then the pitch on the outside sweep to #3.In my mind the biggest problem for the jackets of the 3 is going to be the FB, he’s a mismatch for the line and linebackers. It’s going to be interesting to see how the coaches adjust to him. I still think the Jackets offense is going to have to much fire power for MC in the end though. Will be interesting to see if the Jackets can stop the FB with putting more beef in the DL or smaller quicker guys. SHS LBs are undersized for sure and may have a busy night. If MC doesn’t pass much I look for a lot of Jackets playing up in the box I see that Greenbrier didn’t have trouble scoring against them... I don’t know any details on how they scored. Maybe SHS can put up alot more pts. Edited October 2, 2018 by brian2000

I don’t know any details on how they scored. Maybe SHS can put up alot more pts. GB popped a couple of long runs, Escue for around 90 and Chambers for around 80. They also scored a a deep pass. I listened to the game online on my iPad and was listening to Portland-WH on my phone. I think Springfield will be the best coached team MC has faced this year, no offense to their other opponents, and the most athletic and offensively balanced team they faced as well. I think MC will get their yards on the ground, just like they did last year. I just don’t think they can match up with the speed the Jackets possess. I remember Springfield scoring on two deep passes in the game last year and Jones popped a 20-30 something yard run for a TD. I look for more of the same this year. Just my opinion though. JacketLover
I like to look at the Sonny Moore power ratings just for fun, but they are surprisingly more accurate than one would think. They have Springfield at home as about a 19-20 point favorite. They also list Springfield has having a much stronger strength of schedule than Montgomery Central. I know this won’t mean a thing come 7 PM Friday night, but it is interesting. The rankings as a whole are interesting to look at too. DutchMantel
Yeah the Jackets will definitely need to stack the box to stop the run. MC has faced some speedy athletes but I don’t think they’ve faced athletes that are as well utilized has Springfield’s are. Should be a fun game come Friday night. WRudolph2003
If you think Springfield has more athletes than Kenwood, your crazy. I have seen both teams play in person and it’s not even close. With that being said Springfield has by far better coaches than Kenwood. As far as MC being one dimensional, by no means is Springfield super complicated offensively either. They have one special athlete but don’t fool yourself into thinking they are just way better at every position than Montgomery Central. This will be a close game, I just can’t see this being a blowout. Can’t wait to see what happens.

Don’t fool yourself into believing that Springfield only has one special athlete, or on second thought, go ahead and think that......
