Now that Milan is straightened on the dates that TSSAA issues for practice times I think they are going to be really a really hard out. They have stud athletes that's for sure. Can coach Petty put it together and make a deep run? Only time will tell.

I hope they do. I have some doubts about organization and structure within the coaching staff to get to where we need to be. Raw talent is definitely there. We are blessed in that area.

I always struggle with Henry county. I keep up with most west tn football teams ( excluding mempho )

Because HC plays 5a its hard for me to keep up the Pats. How are they this year? How many seniors?

Not sure how many seniors but from what I know it's not all that many. Lot of juniors and sophomores. We do have Jayln Foster back at RB and he wreaked havoc on people last year along with Jamarcus Johnson at RB. Jawon Odoms is going to be our go to WR. O line should be a work in progress. QB may be a freshman this year. He is a very special talent that we have never had before. Defensively we should be pretty solid.

7 starters back on the each side of the ball. Lots of upper class men. Lots of talent. Breaking in a new offensive coordinator that I think has a lot of potential. QB from Milan will not be the typical QB you would expect from us. Can pass but can also take off in a flash. Will probably see some qb option. Should be a pretty good team scrimmaging you guys.

Looking forward to it. I dont think our offense will have any problem moving the ball. It's our defense that is somewhat a question. Also looking forward to how our freshman QB does. He is #12. Lot of hype surrounding him.

Is that the guy that was at Trousdale and Martin?

Yes. David Barker. Was OC at Crockett Co. before Trousdale. Last year at Crockett they went 13-1 and lost in the semis to trezevant. Johnny Jones was a mr football finalist.

Yes. Didn’t realize he had went to Milan. I’ve heard mixed reviews on him as a coach. I hope he ends up being a great hire for you guys. I really liked the QB you all had in the spring. I think he can be dangerous. Also the Williamson kid is a really good looking athlete. Like PN said, I’m very interested to see how our frosh QB looks in live action. The sky’s the limit with him. I’ve been told the coaches love him and he’s very advanced for his age, especially with the mental part.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
