Question for BPM or any Milan fan. Do y'all not let freshmen play Varsity? I was just thinking and I can't remember any freshmen to contribute on the varsity level..at least not starting

Depends on how far back you want to go. Rod Smith started every game as a freshman. Daylan Walker started several. He ended up at Arkansas St. Avery played some as a freshman. There were a couple of others I’m sure but none in recent memory.

Not sure how many seniors but from what I know it's not all that many. Lot of juniors and sophomores. We do have Jayln Foster back at RB and he wreaked havoc on people last year along with Jamarcus Johnson at RB. Jawon Odoms is going to be our go to WR. O line should be a work in progress. QB may be a freshman this year. He is a very special talent that we have never had before. Defensively we should be pretty solid.

Is the QB the kid that transferred in from Martin?

Part of me still wonders "What if" when it comes to Rod. He was special. That injury was nasty though. I remember Day Day, I want to say he dawned Maroon a few months in WCs Alumni Game... No funny business. Houston and Stewart Co combined. So we were allowed lol still wish I got to play in that one.

He was projected a 3rd pick in the nfl draft. He was no doubt special.

He is 6' 0" and 160 lbs. He is ranked #1 QB in the State of Tennessee in the class of 2023 and #23 in the Nation for 2023.

He’s bigger than that now. I saw him at the tailgate, I’m 6’ on the nose and he was taller than me by an inch anyway. And he looks thicker than 160. I think that weight was measured before he got on Junior’s workout regimen! Haha

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
