King I think you overlooking Blair. He may not have break away speed but he will get you some tough yards. I think the other Birchfield will hold his own. The Black(thats his last name) kid has some speed. I’m more worried about the D this year. Johnson will be hard to replace at LB. King I’m also wanting to see how McKinney develops through the season.

Not overlooking him,  I just didn't mention him ;)  Can't let too many cats out of the bag.  Tim Black's boy is pretty quick.  I just wonder if he's as mean as ole Tim used to be

How was N.Greenes numbers? Were they any better than last year? We scrimmage them Friday, was wondering what to expect.

I was waiting for that one vote for Cosby.  You didn't disappoint

Hard to say since their trainer woman kept stopping the scrimmage for lightening :roflol:

I counted like 23 players...they may have been missing some.

Uknoit, if you think you can avoid being biased,  I'd like your assessment of the scrimmage today.  Cland's biggest strength this year is up front.  I know all of those boys and I don't think anyone on the schedule will beat cland by dominating up front.  I just don't see it happening.  However,  we don't have the elder Lunsford on the sidelines and Coffey running the ball.  I think that opposing teams who can scheme defensively will give us problems this year.  Young Conner has muscled up and Lacy has added pounds but the Coffey train was a whole different train.  If you got in front of that train, it was lights out.

Does anybody know how the scrimmage went today.

We came out like we were playing against NG again. Just no effort for the first 30 plays. We're big up front and made holes for big plays when we wanted to. So did Cland.

Conner is hard to get a bead on, Lacy is strong, FB will hit ya. They done well closing on the ball too. Secondary has work to do as we were well behind the D and dropped some TD passes.

I think it ended up Hampton 3-1 but the last score (maybe two even) came with some Cland starters on bench

I was told Hampton didn’t score on Cloudland starters.Just wondering if that was correct.

Not for sure but I think Hampton scored once against the starters. Was a really good scrimmage for both teams. Thought Hampton moved the ball more consistently  ,Just give up about 3 big plays .

Hampton was sluggardly. Heard "practice" was intense after the scrimmage... imagine it will be again today.

    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
    • Are you trying to say you didn't find Seven and ShadySlim going at it?
    • hey goat! how’s monterey looking this year?!
    • several people actually. they said “snoball, do you know who railbird81 is on coacht?” I said, “never heard of her.” they said, “you ought to check it out they’re getting fired up on there like the old days.” well, you can imagine my disappointment when I came here expecting sharp, witty banter and all i found was more akin to toddlers slap fighting. and what looks like 1 guy/gal talking to themselves with multiple accounts.
