McMinn Central vs. McMinn County

I think this game has a chance to be closer than most people think. McMinn's offense has not show that explosiveness consistently.  If Central can stop the run and win time of possession, It could be a close one. McMinn has not proved it can play well away from Athens. Will be interesting indeed.

McMinn pulls from 1500 where as Central pulls from 750. That matters to an extent, but I see your point. Also, there is no excuse for McMinn to have less than 100 football players in their program.

Good point on the enrollment numbers. However I would bet my Western Sizzlin coupons that those numbers wouldn't come into play if Meigs played McMinn.  Meigs big.

I don't know about big. We tried that a couple years ago when we were down. Gave them a better game than they bargained for the first year. Thankful for a running clock the second year. School size makes a huge difference. Doubt we'll get a chance to play them again, at least in the near future.

    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
