keepitmoving
Score predictions, and who will be the impact players on both sides of the ball for Greeneville and Powell?

Been going back and forth on this one. Should be a really good football game. Both teams are really talented. But as I said earlier, I believe that Greeneville will miss both Ballards more than most believe, and especially early on in the season. I like Powell in a close one - mostly because of the home field - something in the 31-27 range.
Bluegreymom
This is a tough one and obviously could go either way. I’m gonna go with Powell on this one. I’m expecting a really competitive game, regardless.

A couple of good points .The loss of two monster wideouts that were men against boys on the outside ,will also hurt Greeneville. My biggest worry is getting a better push on both sides of the line and players going both ways.If the Devils can stay healthy ,I think they could become a very serious contender by playoff time. Hopefully the weather cooperates. There calling for on and off thunderstorms all day Thursday. Final score in a close game could be Powell 27 Greeneville 24.

Did you see the thread that had already been started over in 3a/4a? GREENE 28 - Youngblood, Albright, Izze, Gudger, Carter, Harrison, Greg, the speedster Jayden, and along with some new guys stepping up. Powell 3 Edited August 20, 2019 by Romansfive8

Powell 3 If his defense can hold Powell to 3 points, I will drive up and buy the Greeneville DC, who is a good friend, dinner at the Farmer's Daughter.
WillieTheWildcats
Greeneville has it! ( sorry about that Halls ). I like Greeneville to get an early lead and pour it on. I'm actually most looking forward to watching Powell play. Are the Panthers great, good or a work in progress? 1

Ya 3 points not going to happen. The new OC and HC are way to good schematically to only score 3 points. Also I heard that Powell's (1) defense has not let up a TD yet in the scrimmages. How many teams can say that. I like Greeneville but they are not that good. lol Now last years team, maybe?

Love Coach Spradlen. ( He got his start coaching DB's my senior year at GHS). I also don't think we hold Powell close to 3. This isn't some NE TN team and the last time Greeneville played a team from knox co we got put out of the 2016 play-offs by a hail mary TD pass for the Knox Central win and appearance in state that year. Powell has athletes and Greeneville has athletes. The big question is who is going to dominate the line of scrimmage? Off the last 2 Greeneville teams Line you had an ETSU DE Signee, Walter State Baseball Player Signee, ETSU O line Signee, UVA-Wise OL Signee but return your best lineman in recent history or maybe ever at Greeneville in Chris Everhart the Marshall OL commit who is a road grader at 6'3 315lbs and very athletic DT/OL (Had a Diving pick last year on a screen play)

Will be a great game in my opinion. I heard Greeneville's O-line vs DB in the scrimmage a couple weeks back got WORKED! Reports said 1 vs 1 DB did not even throw the ball, just ran it down Greeneville's throat 80 yards down the field for the score. Now it is a scrimmage and how many 1's played or didn't play dont' know, but it was 1 vs 1. Im sure Greeneville will be fine up front though. I believe it will come down to QB play. What QB from each team is going to show up. Powell QB can be very good when on, and Greeneville has a new QB playing in his first game. The team that wins will be because of QB play and decision making.
