This game features two bitter rivals.  Always some sort of fireworks or maybe a goat on the field.  (Y’all do remember that right).  I think Beech has the edge but you never know in matches like these.

Funny, our first year living here we had a small metal goat ornament that was stolen from our front porch. It was a gift to my son from his friends prior to moving to TN. A few weeks later via Instagram, my son saw his goat on the Hendersonville tailgate trailer.

Better bring the goat inside tonight.

Beech by 2 scores.

This one hurts. We gave it away. Up 17-6 with 5 min to go we fumble a punt snap. Bucs tackle the punter inside the 30 and then score to make it 17-12. 3 min to go we drop another punt snap inside our 20. Bucs score with 40 sec to go to win it.  Proud of our players for an outstanding effort against a top team.  Good plan by the coaches to limit the high powered offense of the Bucs. Didn’t win but showed that we can compete at a high level.

Mondo I was keeping up with this game and I'm sorry for the way it turned out. I was saying the same thing to myself with not much time left. Idk how that happens so commonly lately, but the fumbled punts intimately cost them the big rivalry win. Congrats to Beech and their win, but looks as though Hville literally "fumbled" this one away. Great game anyway

Lebanon almost done the same thing against Lavergne tonight.

They were up 28-7 and ended up winning 28-27 with Lavergne missing an extra point to tie the game late in the 4th. But Lebanon had a stretch where they had drives end on a fumble, interception, interception and bad snap/punt.

I don’t know that I’ve ever seen two teams play more poorly in the same game. Beech did  almost nothing offensively the whole night as their O line was a no-show again. They scored all their points on HHS turnovers giving them a short field. Beech got the ball at the Commando 10 yard line in the first half and could only get a fg.  Hats off to HHS for spending most of the night in Beech’s backfield. HHS literally gave this one to Beech in the fourth quarter. I’m expecting improvement as the season goes on, but tonight Beech took a step backwards.

    • What we have here is an influx of outsiders raining down on the town of Maryville like a swarm of locust trying to change our culture into the same crap they moved away from. I have no issues with anyone coming here but don't bring your politics with you. Most people around here never pay attention to the elections and keep letting the same ole rats and vermin right back in the back door and wonder why things are like they are. The problem at Maryville High is mainly due to letting outsiders get a foothold on control and shove their agenda down everyone's throat. Anyone that leaves there or let's say ranoff are replaced with an outsider with the same mindset. Eventually Maryville High will never be the same as it once was which I'm beginning to believe already but it's only chance of survival are to recruit people that will get in there and reverse the damage that has already happened.
