I have it as being played in 1931 but yes TC did win 126-0. Below is a section from Mr. John Oliver's "Looking Back" Article that he provides for the local paper. This particular article was published on 1-3-19 but I believe he has included this info in other articles as well.

"We quote from a 1931 article in The Tennessean: “Trousdale County had one of the most successful football seasons in history. The team was under the direction of Eugene McIlwain… the team won eight out of nine… they amassed the huge amount of 364 points while opponents were able to score only 79 points.

“Philip Dickens, great running back, one of the state’s leading scorers, scoring 32 touchdowns and adding seventeen converts for a total of 202 points. In one game this season Dickens scored thirteen touchdowns. He was a triple threat man and the type of player that would make any team in the state.”

The game where Dickens scored 13 touchdowns was against Westmoreland and the final score was 126-0. Not mentioned in the article is that one reason Phil scored so many points is that the team was so small that there were no players to take his place and let him rest – as if he needed to!"

No Doubt Mr. Dickens was a bad dude in his time.

You are correct. It was 1931. I finally found the article that our vice principal wrote years ago about Westmoreland’s first team.  He was my history teacher in middle school.  Here is the article.

Creek bank magic tonight for the Eagles. The Last time football6 and me was on the same field together the eagles walked away with the first of 3 victories in a row. Tonight football6 son and my son will be back facing off as opponnents in this once grudge match between to neighbors. Lets see if the streak continues with the eagles winning again.

    • Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. I wrote about many of the issues here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/11/17/grounds-for-investigation-and-suspension/ I interviewed Winfree after she was dismissed from the team and wrote about it here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/12/01/a-new-interview-with-sable-winfree/ Winfree had been on teams in Warren County since the fourth grade and never been dismissed from a team. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
    • What is the hold up here? I have not heard anything in weeks. Are they waiting for the right person or is something else going on?
    • Per usual, we'll be hard to beat in the regular season, I'm sure. It's the post season that I'm more worried about, specifically the coaches. Maybe they'll be able to make some adjustments that will keep the momentum in our favor. How's Grays recovery coming along?
    • Something don’t add up here a college coach is not going to turn away a good player they need just because they didn’t get along with their high school coach
    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
