These two teams are mirror images of each other on offense. Springfield’s QB is a better runner and the Lexington QB has a better arm. Both teams are very similar athletically. I think this is as even of matchup as you could get. It will come down to field position and turnovers, in my opinion. Looking forward to seeing Lexington in Springfield for the first time since 1983 or 1984, I can’t remember for sure. @LEON can correct me on that I’m sure.

I agree with your observation on both programs. In 11 games SHS avgs 26 pts per game giving up 20. Lexington is 25 pts per game giving up 20. Something will have to give. SHS 11 opponents have a avg 5-5 record and Lexington opp has 6-4 record. 3 of SHS opps moved on into 2nd rd. Lexington had 5 opps moving on to 2nd rd.  Lexington played a decent non region schedule

It will be interesting to see how their speed matches our speed.

Sounds like we are mirror images of each other.  Pretty evenly matched

@brian2000  The game we played 2 years ago against Lexington, at Lexington, was a very good, well played and officiated game.  Lexington  has a well kept older stadium and classy fans.   it was also a second round game and the week of Veterans Day.  They honored a WW II vet prior to the game. The ceremony was EXTREMELY well done.  @LEON and @JacketLover probably can add more details of this game

i am looking forward to this one and hopefully a rematch with Creek Wood in round 3

    • Problem with DB football goes beyond coaching. Like Waco said. Thr band is the main focus of their community and school. They have the resources to be a championship level team. Guarantee Ballard or Witten could have them nationally relevant at some point but everyone down to peewee would have to buy in and at DB we all know that would never happen.
    • I know the RB from OR he’s fast and has good hands. Is good on special teams also. Didn’t want to play defense over to the Ridge.
    • Lieutenant Flip flops is on a roll. #1 recruiter in Anderson Co, fo-sho.
    • Has there been any effort to contact college coaches other than Trevecca?
    • 5star put out and article about the QB competition for Clinton like they have 9 other schools. They listed a QB that was previously on Powell’s roster last year. He was the Frosh that could throw great wearing number 5. He was not mentioned as a transfer.  HC was quoted in getting two running back transfers one being from OR that has been mentioned on these boards as well as another from TKA.  I had heard about these and more transfers. It is impressive that Clinton is able to steal away from the recruiter at Powell.  I wonder if the issue with the principal will change that or open the gates even more.
