Nextoneup
We've been asking for this since Pearl came back to 3A. Now we got it! Who do you got?
BoardHater71
This game is going to be great. Alcoa is coached by Gary Rankin (438-76 Overall; 186-18 in 14 Years at AHS). Pearl-Cohn is coached by Tony Brunetti (123-57 in 14 Years at PCHS). Both of these programs have produced elite talent that has gone on to be tremendously successful in the NCAA ranks. Both of these programs have produced elite talent that has even gone on to star in the National Football League. Alcoa is making their 20th appearance in the State Championship. They are 17-2 in State Championship Games over the years. Pearl-Cohn is making their 4th appearance in the State Championship. They are 2-1 in State Championship Games over the years. The elephant in the room has always been that Alcoa has done their part and continued to reach and win state titles. Until this year it's been something that has eluded Pearl-Cohn for some time. This has been the game that fans of 3A football have wanted to see for such a long period of time. Next Friday afternoon we all finally get to see the matchup. It's going to be a lot of fun. kingofthenorth
Alcoa wins. The last time PC was in Cookeville it got ugly quick. I expect the same to happen this time.

But like I been saying all year, our defense has caught up with our offense. So games like Covington we would've loss them. Best our defense make huge stop on 4th down. So next Friday we have to play better than we did against Covington that's for sure.

They didn't do that to their 2nd and 3rd round matchups in 4a that year in Fulton and Greeneville.
