Well we just got cleared to have groups of 25 to practice together!! How are practices going in skillet town?

Who cleared you? I'm curious who has to authorize that and is it city based? County based? Etc etc? Just curious who is in charge of those type things.

Here is the explanation from the notice. We are a private school, but tend to follow the county on schedule and other guidelines.

Due to the local government's changes in restrictions with the Covid-19 plan, we will be allowed to increase our gathering numbers up to 50 people at a time.  However, we are going to cautiously ease up that number by keeping our group numbers less than 25 for the time being. All other check-in and cleaning procedures will remain the same at this time.

Pretty good timing for a program to be able to gather that many.

I'm pretty sure it's left up to school districts. Could be wrong

Thanks, as good a guess as any really. Seems like mandatory restrictions have been eased alot, but some schools are gonna ease restrictions faster than others. Wonder if in the long run if it will make any difference on quality of practices.

Is this against TSSAA rules?Or can a City or County just say "Go at it"?Is there a Coronavirus jail sentence for the Rogue?

Probably matters on who is setting the rules to begin with. Not sure if TSSAA has anything to do with when schools will ease restrictions. As long as schools follow guidelines for practice dates, pad dates, etc. The TSSAA's own rules for practices etc.

TSSAA direction is to follow local guidelines. Davidson County, Shelby County are still locked and can't practice. The vote on waiving dead period died with a tied vote - clearly there are some varying opinions within TSSAA.

    • I have no issues with the Karns Middle School program.   Good coaches and he's with the kids he goes to school with.  He's a rising 6th grader who had to play with 6th grade kids last year because Karns didn't have enough kids for a 5th grade age team.  He's in a good place at this point.   My daughter is a single mom with 4 kids under 11 years old.  We help her out with logistics, so staying in our own area right now is important.  Once he gets to high school age, who knows what happens?  That bridge will be crossed when we get there.
    • I know he was a backup but I thought he filled in well when the starter went down. Never a bad thing to have a change of pace back
    • That would be a good get for them. Lowe always finds a way. Pretty sure they have their Rb from last year returning but not that line of beef
    • One school has said it, it was York…who Oneida and many school that played them before we did claimed that they were the dirtiest bunch they’ve played. Riverside didn’t call us dirty nor did smith after they beat us. Ur only dirty if your the one giving out the whoopins.
    • If it was anyone but #8 I would agree with you. Theirs a couple people on that team that probably would. Not him. And I who was standing on the 1st base line fence saw clearly that the boys foot was covering more than half the bag.
