When I was walking in I told my S.I.L. that if this #1 vs. #4 game isn't a 25 to 30 point win, something is wrong. We covered the 25 point spread.

What happened in Oak Ridge, we were keeping up with it? WB had two good looks at the end.

The TSSAA bracket is wrong. The Region 2 games are at MHS.

Region 1 finals are D-B and Science Hill.  It looks like Region 2 is Oak Ridge and Murvil.

So, I saw D-B and Murvil in the opening game of the season down in Greeneville.  Murvil won that one in a competitive game that the Rebels pulled away in down the stretch.  I am assuming that Murvil is only stronger now considering that this game was played the day after Murvil eliminated D-B in football and any football players that are playing now wouldn't have played in that game.

IF D-B has to lose to Science Hill, then I am kinda pulling for Oak Ridge to win just so I can go to Big Ed's and have me a few slices pre-game... Lol.

But hopefully the Tribe even the season series with the Hilltoppers and I don't have to worry about going down 81 at all on Monday night.  :D

Just kidding, I like the NWVAHavokFan, he has opinions but no bad attitude.

It was good seeing big Oak Ridge fan @SweetScience last night in Maryville. He is definitely a chip off the old block. Daddy Science is an as big or even bigger OR fan. Ole Sweets needs to get an "OR" logo hat for basketball. His hat had that old OR football logo on it.

Shout out to @rebelwoman87 for the saved seats.

Thanks a bunch RR. It was good to see ya buddy. Yeah, I grew up in the gym and football fields with dad taking me to the games. He’s always been a passionate fan, that’s for sure. Again, sorry for any expletive words I may have yelled in your ear. Mom kept nudging me on the shoulder to keep it down Lol I apologize for that.

I don’t expect us (OR) to go into Maryville and beat a team the caliber of Maryville, but I do hope that we at least make it competitive. It seems to be able to do that you need to limit J Anderson on the score sheet, in terms of limiting the amount of points he scores. Easier said than done, but if he has a big game like he did against Clinton last night scoring 35, it’ll be a long night for the Wildcats I’m afraid. Best of luck to both teams and hopefully no major injuries happen to either.

I have that OR football hat and a matching black jacket to go with it. Then I have another dozen or so other hats in various Oak Ridge color schemes. The hat I wore to the 1991 State Championship game and the hat for winning that Championship are displayed in the Wildcat Den in my house. I also have a game worn Lady UTC Jennifer Wilson jersey. I have some Tee Higgins autograph pics but I doubt Tee really signed them

But I have to admit I don't hold a candle to SweetScience and Papa Bounder when it comes to dedication to the Wildcats.

Bold prediction...Coach Green comes up with a brilliant plan to limit Anderson's touches. Miller snaps out of a minor slump. Milloway proves why he will be a Mr. Basketball finalist next season. Johnson's leadership and basketball IQ shine. Stewart opens up the inside with his outside shooting. Preston and the bench players spill their guts out and Oak Ridge floats on air all the way back to the Ridge.

If Maryville does win and OR losses in the Sectional then go and win State Rebels.

    • The Girls Basketball team I am a part of played for a gold ball this season. One of the biggest differences in the sports is that there is no field prep/maintenance in basketball.   Our baseball is successful and play 30 games in the regular season as well. All of the teams dedicate A LOT of time in preparing for their next opponent.
    • “facts” or better yet ‘opinions’ had been up for weeks/months. that’s not why the thread was deleted. get over yourself.
    • Im pretty excited about the new rules that NFHS voted to adopt. Does anyone know if this will take place in Tennessee starting this year? I think I heard/read somewhere that the TSSAA bi-laws say the have to mirror what the NFHS does, and when the NFHS offered the current weight classes as options, TSSAA didn’t adopt them until NFHS made them official. Did NFHS make these changes official starting next season or will it be similar to the weight classes where TSSAA doesn’t change what they are doing until it is  an officially official part of the NFHS rule book? It’ll be interesting to see if it is rolled out for the new TSSAA Middle School season and I saw a post where the youth wrestling in TN was going to vote on adopting it as well.  I’ll pray for all the youth coaches that will have to shoulder the confusion from all those crazy #### parents who already think they know the rules more than everyone else  . Imagine the first time their kid is taken down and a 3 goes up on the scoreboard or their kid gets pinned with only one point of contact in the cylinder. Their heads might explode. i kid, I kid. Sort of. I’m surprised ride time was brought down with all the other changes. I know some argue that it promotes stalling on top, but its been an official scoring method in college forever, so I figure it must be doing something right. Do any of you think that’ll ever be implemented?
    • Crazy how the thread just gets deleted when facts come out.
    • I understand I guess it depends on the school you are with and the time you want to put in.  It’s evident of the schools that don’t put in as much times.  I would say basketball players put in as much time as any sport in our school system and this is coming from a football town.  Bball is a longer season than other sports.
